Ah that makes sense, I hadn’t considered that https would mess this up. I actually already use libredirect on Firefox on my desktop, I was just hoping to set up a network wide redirect. Thanks for the help!

Has anyone tried to use unbound (or even a hosts file) to redirect requests to youtube to an invidious instance? It seems pretty trivial in my head but I cannot find any reference to it online

Libredirect does a similar thing on Firefox desktop. I use it to redirect all Reddit links to my locally hosted libreddit and YouTube redirects to random invidious instances so that it’s different every time.

As far as I’m aware this was possible before the api changes. I’m not sure it’s possible anymore

I just picked this up in the sale and this is a genuinely fun game. I’m not even a Warhammer fan but this is very reminiscent of Doom with both the graphics and enemy types. It’s a pretty short game, I’m about 5 hours in and just over halfway through.

To be honest I don’t see the issue with multiple similar communities. It’s no different to how Reddit would have many subreddits with similar themes. For example on Reddit there were dozens of Star Wars subs so people would subscribe to them all

If you're on iOS you could check out memmy, it is heavily inspired by Apollo and has just been published on the App Store

I use Kubuntu for the kde plasma desktop. It made the switch from windows much easier. I dual boot and occasionally use windows if I want to play a game which doesn’t have Linux support

I’ve tried all the apps and honestly they are all great. I use memmy mainly as I much prefer the UI. The only app I haven’t tried is mlem because it would not let me sign in and gave me an error whenever I tried

I’ve always wanted to but it seems dauntingly expensive and tricky to do. Any tips?

As a long term windows users, I recently switched to kubuntu and I’m loving the kde plasma desktop. I like the look and feel of windows but not the telemetry so kubuntu really is the best of both for me.

Honestly as a Snapchat user the constant in app ads for Snapchat plus and the weird feature creep where they add seemingly random features is really pushing me to leave.

The only things keeping me are the fact that it is decide agnostic so I can communicate with my android friends and iOS friends in one group chat, and the core photo sharing functionality. I know most messaging apps allow you to share photos but it’s not quite the same.
