It's funny because I agree with you - out of everything that collects my data I get the most out of YouTube, it often recommends things I like quite a bit and it's the primary way I discover new music

Dockerized programs are easy to install and easy to make system agnostic. It's not always beneficial if you just have one system and you've already got a lot to learn about how to set it up, because it adds another layer of knowledge that you need to use it effectively. But if you're comfortable with *nix and tech in general it's nice to containerize stuff

It's ultimately because of capital. Capital controls resource allocation, so any project that requires resources will have to align with capital interests

It isn't though. Legally there's nothing to be done about it. Defederation and blocking it from the main list is certainly advisable, though.
