Must depend on your client and/or instance settings - I see raw up/down vote counts.

Or accept that God sent the scientists that developed the vaccine. The whole "will of God" argument is always so full of holes - logic doesn't come into it.

If money is no object, wicked edge.

I thought it would be obvious from my collection of knives - money is a problem.

Also YouTube project farm for alternativs. He did a big review

Thanks - I find him yelling at me for the whole video a bit annoying, but his content is generally good - I'll have a look

Unfortunately, only reasonable people think that. Maybe someone should make a movie about how that might work out for us.

I'm Australian but don't live there. It worries me how far right it's getting. Australia being a very sporty place means transgender people in sport is a huge wedge that the Nazis can use. I've had to "disown" a bunch of family - including my mother, who I thought I learned my values from!

From a consumer perspective it's a good solution for internet in remote areas and Ontario has a lot of remote areas. I used it for a couple of years when my only other option was a local wireless provider with an expensive high speed plan with advertised downloads up to 10Mbps, but actually never got anywhere near that. I'm lucky that I now have fibre and my starlink hardware is collecting dust in the shed.

Same - just as I started watching he was saying the democrats had weaponised law enforcement against their political opponents, on the day that said he would crack down on political opponents in universities. (I know he's abusing law enforcement in many other ways - it just struck me that the that the university protest crack down was one of the big stories of the day. Such a stark example of "every accusation is a confession")

You are correct in all your assumptions and your assertion that the Standard layer will update. It didn't happen immediately and I just assumed it was another, independent, layer. I just went and double checked and the "bad" things I deleted yesterday are indeed gone from the Standard layer. Thank you.

Thanks for trying! But, I really need 32GB - I want to upgrade a machine that currently has 4x4GB. I know it seems wrong and I've thought about doing a whole new motherboard, CPU and RAM but that very quickly gets to several hundreds of dollars and puts more stuff in the ewaste bin. I'm confident I can easily get a few more years from it with $50(ish) worth of RAM.

The SSD is for another project - repurposing the motherboard and CPU that used to do the job of the 16GB one above :-) I'll probably go for a new SSD because they do wear out eventually and someone else pointed me one at a Canadian supplier for $20.

Thanks for the suggestion. I know about PC Part Picker. The sites they list mainly sell current technology, which makes sense but it's not what I'm after. This stuff is for an old PC. It's not urgent - I'm watching FB marketplace for used memory and also considering buying direct from China, with slooow shipping, for the SSD and cable.

I guess I should have stated the obvious - that I understand none of this stuff is going to be made here. I'm looking for local resellers.

I found Memory Express - 32GB of DDR3-1600 memory from them is $120 for Kingston or $220 for Corsair. I'm assuming they won't price match because the kit I'm looking at on Amazon is a different brand. I'm willing to pay more to buy from a Canadian reseller, but 3x price plus shipping??

I also live in an area with frequent power disruption. We have a backup generator. It is more than enough to power the electronics in our propane gas range, but nowhere near enough to power an electric range.
