Its nuts that anything is using this. Especially things that have their own infrastructure to begin with like news agencies.

I mean this should not be a surprise to anyone who looks at my posts but devilspanties along with tales from alderwood, magefront, thief of tales, pepper and carrot, oglaf (which I saw a bunch and was a bit not sure but eventually went to the archives.), saturday morning breakfast cereal im making my way through. standouts for me are alderwood along with pepper and carrot. devilspanties I initially got caught up in out of nostalgia for fen life but now im so invested I can't help but keep on following it.

Im in a major city. I don't actually know anyone who is antivax in any real way, EXCEPT, for a doctor of all things. OOf.

My biggest thing from the start of tng is just that data is to good. stronger and more damage resistant than worf, smarter than anyone except maybe debatably weasely, all his limitations seem to fall away, virtually immortal. Also the same thing with holograms which became just to overall powerful when they had portable emmitters that they could carry themselves.

Seems to be human and other advanced federation societies on planets that are fully developed like the home world, starfleet facilities, and such. They talk about not needing it on earth often enough but far flung colonies obviously use it. I think there is a limit to. I think of it like the replicator rations with voyager. Everyone gets enough to get everything they need and reasonably could want but some sort of system is in place for making spaceships and buildings and such and trade across planets and such. Im sure during extreme events there is likely rationing were you temporarily were on just enough to meet needs type of thing.

I feel like the idea is their scans are so comprehensive as to make it unnecessary. You would think considering how often the scans fail they would do it but its been awhile so the question in my head is how soon the thing shows up. Im almost sure there have been some that are quick but others that such precautions would still not catch. All the same it would have been good for it to have taken either a real long time in every instance or required some interaction with something to activate it or something.

So the episode with scotty in the next generation he invented a way for the pattern to not degrade. Its supposed to be relatively short term and have only so much capacity. Even during transport when their are issues it suggest they can lose the buffer. Im relatively accepting of it on that point.

lilyhammer because I keep confusing norway and finland.

I am as well but in a bit different way I think. I feel the movie did a good job with the general idea but of course lacked the mecha-armor drop ship type component. It would be great to do it in todays graphics. Then I look at like wheel of time and think that anything they make now will be awful and I rather just stick with the somewhat decent one we have.

eyup. A lot of laws and policies even into this millenium in major cities like mine were made to get people to bring their kids to school and talk with police and it made a significant difference in some pretty bad neighborhoods. Now it goes back to gang control likely.

I actually did the password reset initially even though it made no sense when it says "No account exists with that user name." and I tried again and still get "No account exists with that user name." Is there a way to give it my email and get my username back. I mean I use bitwarden and create the login in bitwarden and then use its paste feature when making the account in order to avoid typos. I also did try using my email as a username but I get the same "No account exists with that user name." message.

hey thanks. apreciate that. I have been meaning to get on matrix but have not yet.

Ugh. Really off this morning and for a few minutes this was posted to news. Anyway this is a topic that has come up every so often not only with her kids but back when she was just drawing about herself. I wonder if the swinging arms is intentional given the quote about freedom ending when you make contact with another.

I love it although granted Im mostly about the dropping out on consumerism. Really leaning into the reduce and reuse of the three R's. I recycle despite it being rather obvious what I put in is likely going to the send endpoint as the regular garbage with maybe pulling some choice metals or such. I firmly expect the these actions are useless comments as I have been seeing them a lot but its not like what I do is based on social media unless its a new idea I have not thought of that gels with me. For some reason this comic makes me think of this rem song that I am not listening to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBS6N1k4FsQ

So I often wonder about japanes cultural things in anime and especially since I watch dubbed (increasingly bad eyesight has made subbed a non starter). Anyway there is a love is ware episode that revolves around a character finding the word wiener funny but it sorta makes me wonder because in english we have that but I would assume other languages would not have the same stuff. At one point too a character is trying to get another to say it by asking another name for hotdogs or for dashhounds. It just makes me wonder if there are real analogues in japanese around this or do the writers have to decide on a different cultural thing for the joke to be around. Anyone know about this? On a side note there is the whole thing of people calling them by their last names and it makes me think about everyone walking around referring to each other like they are a student in their gym class. I wonder how prevalent using the last name actually is.

So im on zorin so basically ubuntu with gnome. Anyway I see this thing and it only happens with firefox but the switching between various windows I get back to firefox and it will be full screen size but not actually full screened so now I can see another window peeping over the top. Does not happen consistantly at all but like a minimum of once a day I notice it and click the window back to small and then full screen again to get it to use the whole real estate. Just seeing if anyone has seen behaviour like this or better yet knows something about it.

Its a well known thing that as far as I can tell everyone goes through if they have multiple kids even though they are aware of it. At least I have never encountered anyone who has mentioned it not being the case who has had kids. I guess its that way with sorta everything though. I mean seems like most professionals are more comfortable and easy going with their profession down the line compared to first year at first job.

So Im a bit confused at the ending as its the adult who played the kid, no? At least thats how I learned but it was my older brother who did the trick. Man I think shes in her forties even if it was two years ago (Ived discussed before the time gap thing she does with content involving her kids) and I can't imagine keeping the sprint for that stuff at that age. Not that I have actually ever done it but I think the reason it was my brother was because neither of my parents were up to that kind of thing at the age they were.

Ok. So its something im sorta frustrated with in movie and film plots. Its where the characters seem to intentionally not tell other characters things for apparently no reason. So its like a fair amount of the plot would not exist if the characters would just mention relevant things. This is usually in fantasy types like in particular I am seeing it with the magicians and school spirits. I mean maybe behavior like this is common outside my experience but its weird to me.

Unfortunately Pritzker's original post I think is on facebook so this seemed the least offensive source. I love this guy.

Hope this is kosher but I can't think of where else to post. Anyway man I have been seeing more join the military commercials and in particular a marine one is disturbing as fuck sounding. Anyone else seeing this?

EDITED - searching around man just the marine youtube channel and whats been coming out in the last month:

https://www.youtube.com/@marinecorps/videos

this is the one I saw that got me to post today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ot5tToz9BE

So the saturday ones do this non sequitor stuff and lately it has been things said by certain kinds of folks in our current times. I normally don't post weekends but I don't recognize where this came from. Anyway does anyone know who said this one as I apparently missed the news item or more likely Xit (or would it still be called a tweet?) or whatever

Boy second day in a row. I usually don't paste the artists comments. I figure that is a bonus for people who go to the site and I assume that somehow supports the artist but this one I think it helps with context so here it is:

"Kids are a great distraction from doom scrolling but also a powerful incentive to fight for a better society."
