Maybe so. I do know the main dev of Voyager is pretty active here and open to suggestions for how to make this app better, so I figured I would start here. I have absolutely no idea how receptive to changes the devs of Lemmy are.

Yes, I’m aware, which is why I said it would be a lot of work to change it.
…whiiiich is why OP made this thread asking for a change to be made.
Thanks for this attitude. Lets me know I’m on the right instance. I want to be able to choose who I block, and I don’t want someone else choosing that for me.
Yeah, that just sounds like a bug. What you’re describing isn’t how it’s supposed to work at all.
Eh, I get both sides of the argument. They’re not deciding what you can or can’t see, they’re deciding what you can or can’t see while using their resources. Personally, that type of censorship would lead me to be looking for another instance, but I also get where they’re coming from. Kinda.
If this does get implemented, of course it should be an option, but taking it a step further, I’d love for it to be a 3-way option between showing the full size image, showing the text, or showing a small thumbnail to give you an idea of what you’re clicking on. Personally, I think the thumbnail would be the best solution, as I don’t love the idea of just anyone in the comments being allowed to post giant pictures on my screen as I’m scrolling through, but I also want an idea of what I’m clicking on before viewing a picture. A small thumbnail seems perfect for that.
Edit: oddly enough, I just realized I just described the behavior of Apollo, which like…duh. No surprises there.
It's easier to subscribe to what you want then to block everything you don't.
Hard disagree.
That’s kinda like saying why not just listen to the music that you already know you like instead of trying out stuff you’ve never heard of before. Where’s the fun in only looking at stuff you already know you like and also have the forethought to look for and subscribe to? I like browsing by all because I can find things I didn’t know to search for and things that I never would have thought would interest me but do.
One thing to consider, and I don’t know how familiar you are with Lemmy as a whole so forgive me if it seems like I’m talking down to you, but maybe you’re blocking a community like “sports” which is hosted on lemmy.world and then you are still seeing posts from a “sports” community hosted on lemmy.whatever or some other instance. In that situation they’re still two different communities that both need to be blocked if you don’t want to see them, but they have the same name that shows up in the feed.
Activation lock on newer Apple devices is pretty bulletproof. Unless you’re stealing it for parts, it’s not gonna be worth your time and since the repairability is pretty low, I don’t see theft as being a huge problem for the Apple Watch.
Personally I would be more worried about it falling off with magnets. I was in a river this weekend and wasn’t worried at all, but if all I had was magnets holding it on, I would definitely think twice about going in with that setup.
The “workaround” means downgrading to the PWA, which on iOS is functionally not useable for a large number of people, myself included.
I was unfortunately forced to stop using the PWA and Voyager altogether for a while until the native app was released. Going back to it is simply not an option for me.
