I’ve recently started to use Pixelfed, and I’ve been loving it so far. However, I can’t seem to find any cool profiles to follow. Most of the content that shows up for me on my “Discover” tab doesn’t really interest me.

Most pictures on said tab are nature photography - don’t get me wrong, I think it’s awesome that photographers are posting their work on Pixelfed, but that’s not really what interests me.

What profiles would you guys recommend? Any meme profiles?

Lol I'm not a huge fan either, but I love being able to doom scroll after a tiring day at work.

Lmao same! I quit TikTok because of their TOS and Privacy Policy. I've been looking for an alternative ever since, but none are privacy respecting.

I wonder how it will work without an algorithm, though 🤔

Some are calling Loops (https://pixelfed.social/loops) the FediTok (Federated TikTok). What's your personal stance on this?

Sorry, I'm not sure if this is the right community, but I wasn't able to find a Pixelfed community on Lemmy.

I've used it before, but I'm not really sure how I feel about it. Would you use it on a day-to-day basis?

I don't understand why people are downvoting this, but up, down, left, right all depend on your frame of reference.

Up in space is nowhere, but at the same time it is everywhere. Those are not physical concepts and they require necessarily a frame of reference to even make sense.

I find it very annoying to scroll all the way to where I left off.

One option is Notally on F-droid and on the Google Play Store. It's FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) and it has all of the features you mentioned. I use it as my everyday note taking app and I have zero complaints so far.

There's Safe Notes on F-Droid as well, which is pretty much identical to Notally feature-wise, but your notes are encrypted (locally).

That's an option, but I still think that saving your scrolled position is better.

I've been loving Jerboa, but I'm tired of having to see the same posts every time I open the app.

Absolutely. And it is definitely something that is not being talked about as much as we need to. Lemmy is growing!

Say a user doxxes someone, uploads illegal material, or uploads copyrighted material; what is the extent the responsability of instance owners/admins when it comes to what users post?

Hello fellow Lemmings!

Title. Is it possible for Lemmy to abide by the GDPR given that you can't delete info from other instances?

I have started to use Lemmy quite frequently in the last few days. I really like it, but I haven't been able to find any documentation that explains how my data is being handled, what kind of data is being collected and how it is being used and neither have I been able to find an in-depth explanation – or any explanation for that matter – about Lemmy's security model.

Would anyone please provide a source where I could find that info?
