"Some say COVID stands for Certificat..."

Oh boy.... here we go. WTF could this even mean and how tf could possessing that super secret information that somehow every FB rando knows all about even remotely help op's self inflicted dilemma. It's so bizarre how they think.

Well, that's great. It's very easy to make this about you and fail to see what many others face. I hope you never have to face the brutal hardships caused by not being in the right place with the right connections and the other life circumstances that can lock people into a life of deeper or generational poverty. But it could be the tide just hasn't risen to a level with your head barely above the turbulence stuck treading water with no way out. In an instant, everything could get turned upside down and through no fault of your own, now the world is a different place all of a sudden. But it's not any different, you've just joined the millions of others who got the rug pulled from beneath them earlier than you.

I too have been quite successful in life through hard work, discipline and the right life situations that gave me the opportunities to carve my own path in life doing what I love. I can still see how things have collapsed and I would never question the validity of the millions of others simply because my life experience has been different. This alone makes you venerable to being pushed to the front of the line next.

I left the day they made the switch and, after 12 years as a daily user, i haven't logged into my account since. Because of Lemmy, don't miss it one bit. The only reason I ever see reddit posts is when they happen to show up in any of my DDG searches. Usually, they show up when I'm trying to seach for info flabout a game or mods, at which point my reddit usage is purely utilitarian. I dont login and i no longer use it as any source of entertainment or online social interactions.

Lemmy reminds me of very early Reddit, which is unrecognizable in its current state. After years of stupid decisions, the overwhelming barrage of adds, trackers and corperate greed, the reddit I found so engaging and entertaining was lost years ago. My exit was just an acknowledgement of that truth.

FONV and Skyrim. Even with mods, FONV looks like microwaved dog shit. Im mot even a huge graphics nut but at a point it becomes too distracting and FONV goes far beyond that. Skyrim's sluggish movements keep me completely disengaged, although the graphics don't throw me off quite as much, it feels so outdated that the immersion is ruined right from the very start.

It will be a hard fought war because everyone is wearing camo by default. Large scale battles would turn into sharing recipes on the best way to smoke a trout, this years corn harvest, last years deer season and by the end of the night, everyone will have plans together for the following weekend. They would be borrowing each other's power tools within the first thirty minutes.

☝️This post DEFINITELY NOT made by reddit corpo. Nope, no sir.

I left reddit when RIF was shut down because of that "no API for you" bulltrash. I found lemme.world and it was like the clouds parted and a warm sunbeam shine down upon my cold, wet, and shivering body. It's like reddit was in 2010 when I first became a daily user... but better in some ways. Smaller community, which will be interesting to watch grow as the years pass, everyone already here still trying to figure out how it can be made better and generally filling up with long time reddit users completely fed up with that corperate, ad riddled cesspool the site turned out to be. Is lemme.world perfect? No way and far from it... but that's okay. There's a really good bunch of dedicated computer smart folks (not me as one could imagine) continually working to mold and shape it into something that fills that dark hole left in the world of social media caused by the requirement for corperate suits needs to shove ads and propaganda down our throats between every blink we make.

Anyways, it sounds like the response he got were likely caused by some flavor of antagonist, rage baiting posts intentionally made to stir up said responses. I'm sure this is a win for lemme.world.
