I quit when they took away the dislike counter, so many said they would but didn't. All I ever see about Youtube is people complaining about their new shitty tactics... just leave, it''s the ONLY way to get any changes. They will never change if people keep using the platform.

Suck it up, leave, you won't regret it.

My hands are cramping just by looking at this

18

Using Android, latest version of the app. I use a bluetooth keyboard to type on my phone when I'm at home. When ever I have Voyager open when it connects or disconnects from the bluetooth keyboard, Lemmy refreshes back to the default view and sorting order, even if i'm creating a post.

I have my defaults set to open on All with sorting order is Top from the last 12 hours. If i'm browsing Local and have changed it to Active and then scroll away, if I disconnect the keyboard, it immediately resets back to All and Top from the last 12 hours.

Even when I went to write this post, I had the subject field written, decided to try and disconnect the keyboard and it once again reset back to All and Top. Thankfully I didn't lose everything I had typed... this time.

Any ideas?! Physical keyboards on Android seems to be really quirky at times.

I'm struggling to find any communities on Lemmy, maybe someone can point me in the right direction?

It's a really dumb and minor question but it's driving me nuts trying to find a decent solution.

I've got some of those metal outdoor lanterns that have a small round solar panel on the top and an LED. They work great in the summer but there just isn't enough charge in the winter for them to get fully charged... the problem is, EVERY single one I've found ONLY charges when it's turned ON.

There seems to be 1000s of replacements on Amazon but I've not found a single one that charges while off...

I'd really like some that I can keep off but will charge anyway so I can turn them on when I'm actually using them in Winter.

Dumb question but maybe someone can point me to a Lemmy community that can help!

(posted this on lemmy.world too but I can't figure out how to do a crosspost using Voyager)

Not sure where best to post this on Lemmy but here goes...

I've got a single Google calendar enabled on my Alexa. I've set 'announcement count' to 1.

Every single time I have a calendar reminder on my Echo, it says it twice in a row, which is very annoying.

I've seen posts from 5 years ago complaining of the same issue, has anyone found a fix? Seems bonkers it's not been fixed.

I'll try reader view, thanks for the tip!

On both the standard version and Firefox Focus (both from Play Store), when ever I try and select text to copy the page jumps around erratically. Sometimes it selects all the text on the screen, sometimes it jumps to the top of the page.

It's become impossible to select any sections of text. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?

thanks

It's more a Google account thing afaik. You get the same prompt in Firefox if you use Gmail

It's just such a common misconception that there was no ads in the 'old Internet', that's all I was pointing out. There seems to be a nostalgic false memory that Internet back then didn't have ads which is hilarious if you were there to see what it was like

[-] KirbyProton@feddit.uk 40 points 7 months ago

What are you talking about, ads were far worse back in the 90s /2000. Were you even using the Internet back then? Couldn't block them and things like infinite pop ups were rampant, if you didn't have a firewall setup and anti virus, your entire Windows 98 setup could be wrecked in minutes just being online

Wait, what? How does it benefit your landlord if you live paycheck to paycheck?

They want the most they can get, of course. I just don't quite understand what you mean?

Samsung S10 using Android 12.

I've finally managed to remove the 'Search on Bing' option (had uninstall Outlook.. Damn you Microsoft).

I've finally managed to disable the "Add event" button by not only disabling "Smart suggestions" but I also had to disable the system app before it would go.

Ideally I'd like the most common used buttons up front - cut, copy and paste.

Any suggestions?

And for that, everyone should check out this site - caniplaythat.com - I'm also blind and this site comes in very handy to know which titles have options wise for accessibility needs.

Have done, best they could do was tell me to stop doing the things that trigger it... Great!

I'm not even 40 and my elbows are totally ruined from using a mouse and keyboard, game controller and phone too much... My gaming days are nearly over and it SUCKS

I should love this game... I've been trying for years to get in to it, keep thinking it will get better just round the corner but... It's so damn tedious!

I'm at a point near the start where I've just fed the mouse/rat 3 bits of cheese and now I'm trying to climb up and...? Jump in some water? I just keep falling and dying over and over.

Just having a rant! Really want to like this game as much as others seem to...

Probably get down voted for this but I'm new to Star Trek online discussion so be kind :) - people didn't like Discovery?

Sure it took a bit to find its feet but I thought the last series was excellent!

But then I loved Picard by the end of series 3 too so many I'm alone here.

Either way, loving all the Star Trek shows coming out these days, was nothing for so long and now...

Any time I slowly scroll back up to a post it always seems to refresh the entire list of posts... I'm sure it didn't used do that... It's useful to be able to refresh but it's far too sensitive. Any way to disable or am I doing something wrong here?
