Yes that's my point, it is disgusting that the lesser of two evils is aiding and abetting an ongoing genocide.

Adulthood has nothing to do with this, it is a question about basic morality. Moral people are able to look beyond their own suffering to recognize the suffering of others. Moral people oppose genocide.

High road!?

When I looked at my ballot, I saw Genocide Joe and Even-More-Genocide Don.

I dont think a "high road" has been on the national ballot in my lifetime.

Chelsea Manning is a national hero who was tortured in US prison for 7 years. During that time she spent over a year in solitary confinement, and as a result of this internationally-condemned practice she tried to kill herself multiple times.

If you knew you would be subject to indefinite torture, wouldnt you flee to Russia too? Why would you subject yourself to living conditions so brutal that you decide killing yourself is the best option?

I'm not suggesting the party nominates a candidate by fiat, that would be a ridiculous PR blunder. I'm saying they achieve that same outcome, but by a thousand slightly more subtle means.

For just one example, when I was volunteering for local progressive candidates, they all struggled to find vendors to print their flyers, signs, etc. Why? Because the Democratic Party has a policy that any vendor who works with a primary challenger will be banned from future business with the party. This policy has been shown to be selectively applied to progressive challengers.

But it certainly happens at the top level too. Look at how Debbie Wasserman Schultz, then chair of the Democratic party, changed the rules multiple times to explicitly benefit Hillary over Bernie in 2016. Or how, in 2020 after Bernie won Iowa, all of the centrist candidates dropped out and endorsed Biden.

the process of choosing who a party nominates to stand for election is entirely controlled by voters in the USA through primary elections.

Courts have ruled consistantly that the political parties, which are private institutions, have control over all aspects of the primary process. Political parties are private tyrannies that put their agenda above the will of voters.

Lmao the bar is so low when you consider "first president to walk a picket line" to be historic union support. Was that before or after he broke the railroad strike?

And Dems were particularly vulnerable to FUD due to their rightward shift on policy, poor messaging, and support for an ongoing genocide. Maybe the party should take some responsibility for once.

I'm not proposing a "solution" here, but the logic is obvious: as the Democratic Party moves to the right, their traditional base becomes more alienated and less incentivized to vote.

Your narrative is that Latinos "shifted right" but I think this is a false framing- it was the Biden/Harris administration that shifted hard right on its proposed immigration policies and it left many Latino voters feeling politically abandoned.

Look at the Democrats' 2024 immigration bill- it is deportations, immigration quotas, and building the wall - while including nothing "left of center" such as amnesty. It is literally a Trump 2016 wishlist.

UnitedHealth is pure evil.

If anyone ever burns down UnitedHealth facilities or murders anyone in their executive leadership, just know that if I am on your jury you are going to be acquitted.

Why can't the DNC and progressive voters do the same?

Because the DNC is structured explicitly to prevent progressive challengers.

There are many examples, but one big one is the DNC vendor banlist. The DNC says that any vendors who work with progressive primary challengers will be banned from any future work with the party.

This means that progressive challengers often cannot find vendors to do basic things like print flyers and signs, and finding experienced staff to hire is nearly impossible. And of course, "centrist" candidates have not been bothered by this.

And then at the top of the DNC you have hundreds of superdelegates and party officials who are overwhelmingly center right or rightwing. These people cannot be voted out directly.
