https://github.com/calibrain/calibre-web-automated-book-downloader

These are crude downloaders with WebUI's for downloading audiobooks and ebooks respectively, using annas-archive and audiobookbay. I recently connected them up to Calibre-web-automated and Audiobookshelf, so my less tech literate partner can easily download and read pirated books without any work on my part.

Nothing special, but it's basically like an *arr stack for books.

I got this message from an employer I applied to yesterday:

"We have received your resume and cover letter in response to our ad for (position) for (employer). We are currently reviewing all candidates at this time. If we are interested in learning more, we will contact you directly.

We wish you the best in your endeavors. We will keep your resume on file for 1 year."

Is that a rejection? Or is it just a weird way to acknowledge receiving my resume?

so if you apply for both and the question is asked "why you do that?", say you would accept either, but have a professional/rising star-sounding reason why you would prefer part time in your back pocket.

Yeah, that a good idea. I could say I want free time to finish my bachelor's degree online. I'll have to come up with some degree that doesn't make them think I'd be leaving for some other job.

Sound Blaster cards had a game port, but the Game Blaster didn't?

If they still have the ability to do this, from what I can find, nobody has figured out the method they use.

The microdot thing OP is referring to was only in a small number of high end copiers considered to be suitable for counterfeiting.

I'm not saying it isn't possible they'd have something, but you can't guard against something when you have no idea how it would work.

Plus great medical, dental and a pension. Being a chief, he almost certainly gets a nice take-home vehicle, with maintenance and gas paid for.

I've been thinking about this lately.

Trump being so open about imperialism will make it easier to convince people that the US war machine is about profits, but it also makes it easier to convince them that imperialism is necessary to maintain their economic privilege. It's easier for people to be against something bad when they don't think they're getting any benefit from it.

I don't think those minerals will benefit anyone but the ruling class, but your average American could be easily convinced they will.

My thermostat is usually at 60, I'll bump it to 62 if I'm feeling particularly cold. It's actually not that bad. You get used to wearing a lot of clothes indoors and your body adapts.

I figure if people are living outdoors in below freezing temps, I can manage to survive at double that.

I googled this because I was curious, and it doesn't look like they have a blanket ban on people with autism. It seems they only exclude people who need expensive care.

(Not defending this policy, ofc. Just trying to get the facts right)

https://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/#46506.htm

Severe developmental disorders or severe cognitive impairments where significant support is required, including but not exclusive to:
... autistic spectrum disorders

I would of course check with an immigration lawyer before committing to a plan to move, though.

CW:Meat spoilerMy family had a fridge in the basement where we stored extra food. It failed when we were on vacation. It had a bunch of trout my dad had caught, stored in plastic grocery bags. It smelled as bad as you could imagine, and my dad made us clean it because he wanted to try to have it repaired.

The freezer was warm, the defrost cycle still happened even though it wasn't cooling., They were partly liquefied, falling apart. Really nasty.
