Look, we know System76 laptops are based as fuck. I mean, Coreboot, Open source firmware, PopOS, and a fucking open source mobo in the works, just so fucking based.

But man, these framework laptops look cool too. Completely modular and easy to work on. Looks like the company has proved it isn't going to go under anytime soon.

I'm debating what to get once I feel like upgrading from the trusty ol ThinkPad. What would you buy?

I really, really don't like the "games as a service" thing Microsoft is trying to shove into the industry. Just watch, it will pan out exactly like the streaming services. Once the golden years (equivalent of OG Netflix) of "burn money by throwing in more games than we can afford" are over, we will gradually see fragmentation, price hikes, cost-cutting, etc.

Fuck Microsoft.

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but whatever.

Suicide linux

So much talk, nothing to back it up. Blatant PR move.

Looking for a new printer. My new HP Inkjet is a piece of fucking garbage and I'm going to smash it to pieces in my driveway.

Looking for something with good Linux support, and as little proprietary online HP-type bullshit as possible. Also, should I get a laser printer?

"Intellectual pedigree" is the most pretentious things I've heard in a while ...

We had an HP Inkjet printer for over 5 years, one of the older ones. Ink was expensive, but tbh everything else worked great.

Then we got our new HP Inkjet. Genuinely the worst machine I have ever owned. I can't fucking scan anything without an HP account, and even then it hardly works. I'm going to buy a Brother laser printer soon, as soon as I bring it home that HP printer is going to be smashed to bits in my driveway.

It's very obvious ragebait, just don't respond, it's what they want.

How right to repair is good for the consumer, complete lie. Daddy Tim Cook is keeping me safe with my glued in phone battery, anti-replacement display chip, Apple repair program required NDA, etc. He also bullies manufacturers into cutting off all direct-to-consumer sales of components, so that no nasty unsafe display ends up in my device. Thanks Tim, and fuck Louis! (obvious /s)

I disagree. But, if true, we have been trolled to an elite level.

Good to know, thank you.

I used Calyx for months, it's great. Switched to GrapheneOS for some reason, I can't remember, and haven't had any reason to switch.

I'll put the exact files in GitHub later. I use Kitty with the Gruvbox theme and some custom fonts, lots of bold. Kitty is awesome cause it comes with a TON of theme pre-loaded.

What are you guys using?
