If they do background checks and you list it on your resume / hiring paperwork, they all do.

I used to work as a team lead on a call center help desk that had literally no requirements to get the job outside of a 10 question "technical interview" that features questions such as "can you name three programs that are a part of the Microsoft office suite" and periodically we would have new hires get fired once their background check returned that they lied about having a degree that they don't actually have.

I don't know why they lied - degrees aren't even requested or required for getting the job, but they did and lying on anything that came up on the background check was an immediate termination

You can usually get it for a dollar with the app and it's better than a lot of the stuff that can be made at home with an automatic coffee maker. I used to get it a lot until I could afford to support smaller coffee places

Nooo, I ended up having to filter the fuckcars community because they were angry at ANYBODY that uses a car for any reason - like top voted comments and posts. I saw somebody get jumped by multiple responders for bringing up how there are small towns and people that live hours away from large cities that would still need cars for transportation

Like, I'm as much for improving public transit and reducing the amount of cars on the road in every instance where it's viable. I specifically moved within 10 miles of my job so I could start riding my bike to work instead of driving my hybrid car. It's not that I'm pro car, I'm just anti-extremist

$99.99 which comes out to about 6 years of paying the yearly fee. I paid $5 for Sync back in 2014 and I got 9 years of free updates and no ads until reddit killed sync.

If you're planning to use Lemmy for at least six years, the $100 is a steal, especially since I feel we can reasonably expect the same level of quality of life improvements and updates that Sync got with Reddit.

Feels like OP is referring to the more direct hate that Sync is getting on other posts that this post, while not hating directly, definitely taps into.
