They’ve got pockets up the ass and the HIGHEST SELLING IP IN THE WORLD, and they use it to cosplay as an indie dev team to release games with so many bugs Bethesda would get jealous and now they want a monopoly on a genre they didn’t even invent in the first place.

(MegaTen came out in 1987, nearly a decade before Pokemon Red and Blue came out)

how Sparking Zero is being handled after release should be a study of how hard a company can fumble a game

  • no new maps

  • no outfits

  • no new costumes

  • no color/outfit customization

  • no new Single Player content or new DLC Story packs

-8 characters with 4 of them being Vegeta and 1 of them not even being a fighter (I haven't watched Daima so, I'm not too sure if Pansy fights anyone)

  • 1 outfit change that isn’t even a outfit change, just a moveset change

Spike Chunsoft/Bamco gotta realize that maps, outfits, character customization and Single Player content is what’s lacking not characters.

if you don't know what happened: people who were annoying enough to be banned from 4chan destroyed the site for good and leaked hundred of emails and data of moderators and owners and also the entire source code and the owners literally pulled the plug because it was unrecoverable

a lot of people are saying this will be like the Tumblr exodus all over again but, I don't think that it will happen or be on the same scale as the Tumblr exodus for 1 reason:

the Tumblr exodus happened because Tumblr took away what majority of Tumblr users were there for (porn) while Reddit and Twitter allowed it, I don't think that Twitter or Reddit will allow what 4Channers will be looking for in 4chan replacement ie. an ability to say or post practically anything they want.

Marathon will inevitably attract a lot of legitimate criticism, possibly fail outright, and you will have another situation were discussions will be polluted by people blaming all game's wrongs on WOKE.

especially since the bigots decided to hate on it for having "unattractive female characters" even though they literally JUST COMPLAINED about how Emma Frost in Marvel Rivals looks like a "200lb man post surgery in drag" even though she has Jiggle physics and a skin that 's about as revealing as one can get without upping the game's age rating (AKA literally EVERYTHING they want)

do they think that we have the memory of a goldfish or something?

the Yo-Kai Watch series from Level 5 got written off by so many gamers - especially in the West - as just another "Pokémon ripoff," when in reality, it's one of the most charming, funny, and uniquely creative RPG franchises out there.

i mean yeah, it’s easy to assume Yo-Kai Watch was designed to ride Pokémon's coattails. You’ve got a young kid, they befriend supernatural creatures, those creatures help them solve problems or fight other creatures. It even launched with toys and an anime, like Pokémon. But this shitty surface comparison misses the heart of what makes Yo-Kai Watch special; and anyway, if you want to cite superficial, genre-based similarities as a sufficient reason to not try a game out, you could probably apply that same wobbly logic to many other beloved franchises

when Nintendo brought Yo-Kai Watch to the West, the timing couldn’t have been worse. The first game launched on 3DS in 2015 — right at the tail end of the system’s golden age and just before the Pokémon franchise hit full mainstream saturation again with Sun & Moon and Pokémon Go.

Combine that with a localization that struggled to translate the very Japan-specific charm and humor, and the game was basically fucking sent to die overseas. Didn't help that Hasbro bungled the toyline by failing to communicate which stores the collectible medals were being shipped to and when, making finding them a crapshoot for collectors.

It ALSO didn't help that marketing leaned so heavily into the "it's the next Pokémon!" narrative, which raised expectations to impossible heights (and also made Pokemon fans defensive and avoidant of the series on principle). People wanted battles with deep strategy and tournament-ready meta, but Yo-Kai Watch was always more about vibe, humor, and light social satire.

Yo-Kai Watch deserves a second chance, especially with the rise of "Pokemon-likes" like Cassette Beasts, Dokimon, Dragon Quest Monsters, SMT/Persona, Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Palworld

Pocket Bravery (just came out on all consoles)

Rivals of Aether II

Under Night In-Birth II

Iron Saga VS

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising

And NONE of them have recently been bombarded with balance issues, lack of new content, or the use of real-life celebrities taking the slots of original characters.

Between Battlefront 3 getting cancelled near the finish line, DICE abandoning BFII in favor of Battlefield 2042 (a misfire, to say the least), the Battlefront Collection launching in a piss poor state, and now the PC servers getting hacked (who knows if the same will happen on console), Battlefront is a truly cursed series.

The only positive is that EA no longer has exclusivity over Star Wars. which means Disney could have someone who actually cares make a BF3/spiritual successor.

after all, they'd probably want to emulate the success of Marvel Rivals with Star Wars

Gamers need to wake tf up and realize that they caused this.

This no longer has anything to do with Nintendo.

gaming influencers like Charlie, Mutahar and (As much as I hate him) Asmongold need to start speaking out if they care about gaming., Instead they are pretending this has nothing to do with politics and is just "Nintendo greed".

Digital game prices have been going up for a while too because of inflation. Inflation that the man the gamers elected promised would go down, not made worse with tariffs.

You can't keep hiding behind this copium anymore. You caused this. Take some damn responsibility, cut it with he bigoted "Anti-woke" bullshit and join us against Trump and Elon

Sorry in advance but, this might be a bet vent-y

Marvel Rivals fans always try to justify the character designs for the female characters (which I'll admit, can be a bit goonarbait) by bringing up either Daw or Amari from Concord and literally ONLY THOSE 2 and going like "you see what happens when you don't have attractive characters" but they often forget that

  1. LITERALLY NOBODY ASIDE FROM SONY EXECS WANTED CONCORD

  2. Mei from Overwatch is also kinda bulky and a lot of people love her

  3. just because your game has attractive characters doesn't mean it'll do well or be good. look at First Descendant. it's lost nearly all it's playerbase going from a 270,,000 peak to a 9,000 player 24 hour peak. having attractive characters didn't help that game

4 . When bringing up concord. It's not the the characters were unattractive. It's that they looked bad. Those are in fact two separate things. I don't think anyone is going to tell me the cast of Team Fortress 2 are hot. But they look great as characters. Each is fun to look at, expressive, oozes personality, and is easily identifiable. Concord's designs just looked like a shitty Guardians of the Galaxy knockoff . Porting the body and face of an OF model into the game wouldn't have changed that.

If you're just getting into DMC because of the Netflix Anime, the game you should skip is DMC2 for a few reasons:

  1. The original director of DMC1 (Hideki Kamiya) did not return for the sequel.

  2. The person they replaced him with did not like Dante, nor had any experience in the genre (DMC combat exists because of a glitch from Onimusha and being able to "juggle" enemies)

  3. Itsuno (director of DMC 3-5) came in towards the end of the development (it was clear the game was struggling) and added some things to improve the quality

  4. take all the above, you have a game that doesn't have the characterization, tone, finesse, gameplay of the original- and just a bad game at that

5/ To make matters worse, the game ended on a cliffhanger that is never brought up again or resolved in any following games. It was chronologically supposed to be a game that takes place later in his life, but literally now just takes place after DMC1**___**

The publishers of Drug Dealer Simulator are suing Schedule I because it's a better game.

apparently they are mad that game kind of has a similar theme.

Here is one of the latest player reviews: "Game was mid at best when it first released. Lots of empty promises that were never delivered. I also can not support a company who would rather sue an indie developer than actually fix their damn game."

"we are obligated to perform this investigation"

No you are not. It's bullshit. Use your resources making better games, instead of being cooperate asshats and suing people who do

"It is not our intention to prevent TVGS from selling or developing their game"

where have I heard that before? oh, maybe when Nintendo/TPC tried to sue Palworld/Pocket Pair

And to say "there is no Lawsuit" but then continue to explain why they are investigating (to build a lawsuit) is not a good look.

Sorry Byterunners, but I will be boycotting anything handled by Movie Games, this is ridiculous.

"Mario 64 was 60 dollars in 1995 meaning that it would be about 100 dollars today"

Pay has NOT kept up with inflation. People are poorer.

Folk need to stop pretending like people have as much money as they did in the 90s. Rent costs, house prices are astronomical.

Xbox's business is still impacted today by outpricing people with their initial Xbox One reveal pricing a decade ago.

Nintendo Treehouse comments are absolutely packed with people complaining about prices.

Again, I'm vastly aware that game budgets, inflation etc have increased!

but Pay has NOT increased accordingly. I don't know the solution, but that's the reality.

And I make these points as someone who is lucky enough to earn well enough to just buy them regardless. Most aren't as fortunate.

Game bubbles regularly disregard the poor, unfortunately, as the industry has an above-average number of middle-class background workers.

Price increases combined with physical knock effectively prices the poor out of legally gaming (Buying directly from them/the digital store)
