That's what it's become. But, hear me out, what if I want the hardware without the software? Tough luck? Both are so tied together that if the company pulls the rug you don't have reasonable access to the hardware.

There are friends that only use messenger to communicate and you need Facebook to use it. That and marketplace are the only reasons I use it.

I'm just saying you're adding too much complexity in this particular phenomenon. Evolution by natural selection is a very robust model that has remarkable predictive power. It only works if you're not assuming too many inputs.
