For light or commuter use maybe. Ive had three ford pickup trucks that have spent more time in the dealer shop than on my farm this year. And a waiting list over a month to get them in. Constant problems from day one. Recalls, premature breakages and issues i normally dont see until well past 150k miles. Mid duty or heavy duty use vehicles dont exits anymore. I cant even change brake pads on a new chevy truck without a computer reset at the dealer. It is beyond infuriating.

Congrats! I just checked my stats because of you. Ive had 15 donations sinch 2018, 12 of which were double donations. i guess i dont know where that puts me on volume. No awards for here, but the free gatorade and pretsels after are pretty good! More than adequate compensation in my opinion. Keep it up!

So this is an interesting one for me. I worked with mentally handicapped adults for years, and here in texas at least, if they were able, they could vote.

What happened often was that they voted for who their caretakers insinuated they should vote for, and were taken advantage of in that regard. It wasnt what they wanted, they just did what they were told.

But, to counter that point, the same thing happens to perfectly compitent adults through societal pressures, cultural influence, and media coverage. It may not be what they really want to vote for, but these influnces direct their vote.

Its been established that poll restrictions based on literacy are unconstitutional since 1965. But there is some nuance. Where is the line drawn for disadvantaged or mentally handicapped adults? Convincing chuck, 35 and on a 4th grade reading level, to agree with me and vote how i want is one thing. physically guiding the hand of and checking a box for sharon, a 40 year old with the mind of an infant, seems to be two different parts of a spectrum that blur the line between acceptable and immoral. Its fairly easy to distinguish those extremes, but there is in fact a line somewhere in between.

Not if you share the opinion of everyone here apparently. According to lemmy, an 18 year old fed with a silver spoon and thrust into the limelight is basically pol pot 2.0

God i was a shithead at 18, but eventually i turned into a fairly decent adult. I would like to think that at least. I know the kid has a hell of an uphill battle even if he does have a decent core to him, what with the fame, fortune, and batshit insane family, but if the public opinion treats him like it does here, ill be honest, i would hate the entire world and everyone in it too, just like his old man. Seems like his mom sees that at least. I wish him well and hope he turns out nothing like his father.

Wasn't that the one with the godzilla natural disaster toggle? If so, i figure the next few years could have some fun surprises... if we're lucky.

No machine guns manufactured after 1986 can be legally owned by a civillian. Part of the firearm owners protection act. Previous laws in the mid sixties and the aformentioned laws put in place in 1934 had already diminished the overall count of legally transferable machine guns by a huge margin. At this point, because of supply and demand,, a fully transferable machine gun can cost anywhere between 10k and 80k, depending on a whole host of facors. Normally mabufacturer, model, and condition.

And you are right, making a machine gun is cheap. Converting an existing rifle is even easier. With wire from a coat hanger, the internet, and twenty minutes anyone can make an ar15 fully automatic. The thing is, no one does that, because the penalties are severe and despite what the media shows on tv, most gun crime in the united states is carried out by small caliber pistols. But thats a conversation for another thread.

Fun fact, if you want to legally own a rpg, and can pass the background checks, its all yours. Its just ungodly expensive and it also requires a 200 dollar tax stamp. And each projectile requires the same background check and individual tax stamp. I imagine you can guess how hard those are to come by, and how much attention your address would get after trying that.

Cant tell if there is a shoulder stock on that one. Technically speaking, if it doesnt, and was manufactured with the shortened barrel longer than 12 inches, but less than 18 inches, it could fall in the AOW, any other weapon category under the nfa act of 1936 , and therefore not require a permit for anything. The vertical foregrip may require a 200 dollar tax stamp as an adittion. The legality is a gray area.

If it has a shoulder stock, it is a sbs, short barrel shotgun. And requires a 200 dollar tax stamp. The addition of the vertical foregrip may or may not require a second 200 dollar tax stamp, depending on origional classification and configuration.

Tl,dr: american gun regulations make no sense at all.
