Elon has always been like this. He's just a really good conman.

Just want to reiterate that historically, the French have had some good ideas that they may want to bring back.

The dad on the Waltons is honestly a good role model from what I've seen. Shit must have shifted massively to the right in the 80s.

I haven't watched it in depth, but they seem to treat the female characters with respect overall, especially compared to the slop on sitcoms in the 80s and 90s.

I even saw an episode with some pretty racially progressive stuff. I was kind of shocked honestly, shit has become so reactionary.

I've moved in with my boomer dad for a bit after my divorce. He's retired now and mainly just watches TV all day. He watches The Waltons daily and I gotta say, it's honestly not as bad as I figured it would be. It even has some vaguely class conscious themes at times...it makes me realize how far (further I should say) to the right this country has gone in the last 50 years or so, particularly in our media.

Sounds like we live in the same place. It's dystopian. Then everyone mows their lawns like 3 times a week. Most of them don't have any plants or gardens even.

Wild that you can't even usually own an apartment here in this shithole country. They force most people to be renters.

I was actually thinking about how shitty most suburbs actually are here in the USA. Like not run down but just having nothing to offer.

They aren't places anyone would want to go to if they didn't live there, even ones with million dollar homes are nothing but small plots with houses on them. The newer ones are lucky to even have many trees in them.

I'm sure this is all due to profit maximization, but it makes me wonder if on some level this is totally intentional. No need for gates if you make a place no one wants to go.

This is all just random stuff I thought up but I'd like to look into it more.

People still use these? I thought they went bankrupt?

Oh...college. I graduated HS in 2002 😢. I'm old.

That's awesome. Great job! I remember times in my life really wishing I could go even a few days. Every day you don't drink is a W.

That's awesome. Glad to be in good company.
