fat chance. I don't think commies in the core have a right to do nothing though since revolution is unlikely, they should be getting prepared and also doing anything they can to hinder the war machine and throw a spanner in the works. Likely it will be external pressures that shut this thing down, but internal pressures help :)

There will never be a return to the status quo. Look at 2014, to 2016, to 2020, to 2024. It's only escalation of crises. Nowhere is it returning to "normal" and it won't. The imperialist engine cannot stop until it consumes everything or is defeated.

the US state has really been hollowed out, even in ways that are completely self-defeating for sustaining empire. I bet the super rich would be fine with Secret Service becoming useless because they and their lackeys will also have private protection. So it's just the politicians representing the poor and workers that can easily be killed (not many of them around to be fair, but if there were then a weak SS would make using rightwing gangs for assassinations a lot easier - think of how Brazil works where gangs and off duty cops regularly gun down politicians in the street).
Israel yesterday struck a Health Clinic in Beirut and today a popular Cafe in the West Bank. In Lebanon all they have been hitting is residential buildings and apartment complexes. All they do is hit is civilian infrastructure and kill innocents en masse to maybe get 1 militant.
Iran shows how it's done, targeting only military and energy targets. The only civilian deaths from their attack was caused by falling debris from interceptions, ie Jordanian compradors and Israelis causing the deaths. Just let the missile go to its natural habitat, an Israeli airbase, to feed on its natural prey, grounded F35s. Stop interfering with the circle of life.

Israel fundamentally doesn't understand that killing 199 innocents to get to 1 Hezbollah commander (who will quickly be replaced) creates probably 500 more people willing to join Hezbollah to avenge their family and friends.
Unless they are willing to kill all 5.5 million people in Lebanon with airstrikes these tactics will never bring about victory. Guess how many Taliban leaders the US killed during its occupation of Afghanistan? It wiped out the leadership dozens of times. Taliban still won in the end, even more powerful than they started.
