I agree there are better points to attack Trump on than strictly eggs. On the other hand, it's frustrating to see anyone giving him credit here. Inflation was a big issue MAGA blamed Biden for - the fact that eggs aren't $2 anymore was Bidenomics, and Trump was the cure. But the facts here refute that - after being $2 for decades, the prices blew up after the Trump-mismanaged pandemic, and allowed to remain high in part due to corporate price gouging that took advantage of the pandemic supply issues - enabled by right wing policies - and now Trump is back and they're still nowhere near $2.

I exaggerated, but according to the BLS:

• Oct 2023: $2.07
• Mar 2025: $6.23
• Jul 2025: $3.60

So they're cheaper than they were at their peak in March but still not "down". I wasn't the one grilling Trump on egg prices, just want to clarify that he certainly hasn't actually lowered them anywhere near where they were. They're still way overpriced from the norm.
