Depends on the electronics. Computer components I try to get from their manufacturers or an online shop like bhphotovideo. Cables I get from reputable suppliers with certifications, from their online shops. Laptops, pre-built computers, etc. i would just get secondhand.
I thought they removed SMS so as to not give the impression that SMS is at all private or secure
