I've been floating the idea of moving to Linux for a while. I actually have it installed on a spare drive so I can setup dual boot if I wanted.

I chose to go with Mint but have been running into some issues getting programs to run correctly but the big issue I have is getting steam VR to run. I like to play beat saber for fun and after setup it wasn't connecting to my headset. That's kind of a deal breaker for me. What are some suggestions to get it running correctly

While I'm not in a country that does Celsius I ensured 35?, for a food festival because the wife and myself wanted some grilled food and were running errands otherwise.

We were definitely wiped out and were outside maybe two hours max.

Normally I don't go outside if I can help it unless it's 75-80F (26C) out less

I'm sorry that photo looks like a bad 80s horror movie makeup. Did a double take when I saw it was a real article.

Outbound inferiority

I make sure what I send is going to fail all the tasks. Nothing but the worst for my customers.

I'd rather not give my family anything on me. I don't like being judged or tasked to do things for them because I'm the techy one.

Also hate the spotlight

Would you buy one if they were more affordable? Personal experience I agree they are quite a lot of money to get behind the wheel of.

While we have plenty of gas stations to fill up with home charging can be another hurdle that's costly or impossible depending on the living situation.

I saw it had an update. For a little while it wasn't working right so I swapped to extended and that's been running fine.

Normal stopped a while ago but extended is working well

Sure does. I've been using it for a few months.

Forgot to lead with that

Yeah I have ADHD and it can be tough to manage it. Always forgetting my meds isn't helping in the least bit

Can we talk about that headline

It took effort to read that damn thing and I had to look at it logically instead of what my eyes were telling me

After the third time I hit my head on that damn fan. With a sledgehammer

Haven't had anything outside my bank that needed that

Hello. I've been a window user from win95. I'd like to learn more about Linux but don't know where to start. I had a brief intro when I was in highschool and recently I've been seeing more and more talk here on Lemmy. Mostly memes.

With how bad Google is finding good information unless I add -reddit to my search. Which I won't do. Trying to stay away from that.

What can I expect to find as a casual observer? Why does Linux do that's "better" than Windows? That's not meant to inflame anyone. More so what do you personally like better.
