"We attacked Taiwan because the US wanted us to attack Taiwan. We were forced to do that because the US wanted us to do that. We were forced to do that to protect our own sovereignty. This attack was in self defense. Just like Russia's attack on Ukraine".

Whoa. The bots have become self aware!

Why is Joe getting access to all his memories and thus realising the Golden Path?

Fun fact: According to the Indian Constitution, India is a "socialist secular Republic". India had incredibly powerful unions till the 90s. After that, liberalisation happened (which led to significant economic progress). This however, destroyed all socialist institutions that were in place.

It has become so bad, that the wealth inequality is now more than it was under the fucking British Raj.

I’m also not sure how maxDepth and limit interact when used at the same time.

Naah I think maxDepth just works like a filter. The limit is there always for pagination. So if you say "limit:20" and "maxDepth: 4", it will give you the first page with 20 items on it, none of which are > 4 units deep.

The only... yet.

Oof. Ideally all of this should be server side code, not client side.

I think I'll just stick with the "downloading all comments" thing for now. I'm really bored with working on this one thing for so many days now lol. I want to get more features done. The best way to do this is doing it server side (in a way that parent comments come always before children comments). I think I'll try doing that after all basic features have been implemented in my frontend.

Either ways I am going to have to make some changes to the backend (I'm thinking of getting stuff like push notifications in), so it won't be that unholy to consider this.

Ohhhhhh... That's actually quite smart. However, there's a tradeoff between convenience (the fact that users would need to do a lot of button mashing to see comments that aren't that deep) and efficiency. Do your users complain because of this or are they fine with it?

Dayum... It's all hand drawn... I srsly wonder how the heck they can afford to do that. The vid doesn't have many views unfortunately, which probably means ad revenue is absolute peanuts. They don't seem to be sponsored by anyone.

The animations of this style had huge studios behind them with big budgets. I don't know anything about animation, but from what I can see, they seem to have been very faithful to the old hand drawn style. I seriously don't know how they can afford to do this.

Right?!!! It just made me feel so giddy when I started watching it (for me, the animation style brought me back to when I watched old Tom n Jerry on repeat haha).

Never liked Mastodon (neither did I like Twitter, X or whatever tf it is now) because of the no-community nature of it. Therefore, can't speak for Mastodon vs Lemmy.

However, I do see the "why so serious" problem on Lemmy a lot compared to Reddit. It can be depressing at times honestly. Lemmy really needs to up its shitposting game. Unfortunately, I do find myself going to Reddit when I want to come across uplifting posts. I really don't want to know how the world is inching towards fascism every day at such times.

Star wars acolyte.

Weirdly, I found the first two episodes to be bad (because of the bad acting of the twins).

However, I loved the third episode (which funnily others hated). I really loved the witch mothers (especially the leader). I also loved the creativity put in the initiation ceremony or whatever it was called (especially how Indian classical music was used in a setting I least expected it to be used in).
