Yeah, I just snip the tips on the front ones usually. I've been doing it since he was little and while he doesn't appreciate it he has never fought or clawed me in the process of it.

My old man was like this. It always felt awkward though because he made more money than a lot of my classmate's parents combined but it didn't show because he spent it so quickly. We rationalize it a lot by thinking about how he grew up in extreme poverty. That said, he stroked out when I was a teenager and there was nothing to fall back on afterwards.

Says the dude actively using twitter. GTFOO of twitter people.

Centralization sucks. I know a lot of people who are currently dropping BlueSky and migrating back to Twitter because it was just too much of a loss for them unfortunately.

Edit:

Can't be bothered responding to each post individually so I'll put this here.

First off. Mastadon isn't that great of an experience. There's a reason it's not even at half the amount of users it started with. The devs don't listen to feedback and at the current time attempting to get the average person on there is a struggle.

Second off. There are people who use twitter for professional purposes. There's also a lot of companies that refuse to drop the platform which means people collaborating or coordinating with them end up using it for that purpose too. A lot of people and groups with large followings still find moving off the platform too risky. I'm not among those groups but you're being a bit ignorant if you think they don't exist or that they don't matter.

Biden was was talking like someone with the grogginess just getting woken up in the middle of the night then smoking a joint right before coming on. (i.e. We’re fucked either way.)

As someone who doesn't like giving Biden free passes just because he's not Trump, I feel like I haven't seen anyone mentioning the time limit set for responses during the debate. It clearly was not in his favor. Trump can talk your ear off about any nonsense he can dream of at a moments notice.

Biden has always had to take time to think. Look at his speeches, look at the times he responds to reporters. There's always pauses and gaps between responses where he has to think.

Well, well, well if it isn't the consequences of my own actions.

He's surprisingly right, even if he is part of the problem.

The current political climate in this country can't last into the long-term future. I dislike the idea of conflict but many of the current right's ideals simply cannot coexist with those outside of their cult. The right has also been more aggressive about dismantling the country in several areas as a means of takeover. They really do see this as a battle or a war.

You mean hope that they too don't become subject to enshittification? I don't have a lot of faith in that.

Besides that, Google is controlling as fuck. They might keep fucking themselves over but there's no way they won't start attempting to ruin things for the rest of us.

We should be more grateful for these people. Our adblockers function because they don't bother using them.

The moment that most of society starts using adblockers is the moment they become defunct when the big corporations begin actively fighting them. I've already witnessed this with YouTube Vanced/Revanced.

Nothing surprising.

EVs have been developed since the 90s at least as far as I know, and progress on them has been sabotaged at nearly every turn by the industry.

It was worse than what the picture shows.

There's a bunch of videos on Twitter/X showing how they pushed her into that position, turned her around, and hauled her off before cuffing her and detaining her. She was thankfully released later, but this is just far too much. All of it is.

Surprised it's taken this long for people to grasp it.

We control the world's reserve currency, and hold the ability to fry any country's economy via economic sanctions whenever we want. We have the largest military in the world and that military is set up for the purpose of invasion. Yeah, China has a massive navy, but their ships are tiny, most likely for the purpose of defending their oceans and eventually taking Taiwan. We on the other hand have more carrier ships than anyone else, all for the purpose of being able to flex our might on anyone in the world.

People used to say that we attempted to police the world. I don't hear it nearly as much anymore, but it's accurate. We throw our weight around. We're the world's bully.

The comments are quite saddening, and also quite worrying.

This isn't to put women's issues down, but men have problems too. There's a reason why young men turn to these grifters and get manipulated by them.

Even above all of that, assuming you don't agree, it's a problem. We're building up generations of uneducated and toxic men led by these role models. We can't just shrug that off and say it's not our issue, because at some point it is going to be our issue.
