I use magic earth, and it is inaccurate with traffic most of the time. Still, it is accurate sometimes, and most of the time I just need the turn by turn because I already know where there will be traffic on most days.

I'm the one that reported that comment. You were being unnecessarily rude, and have been to other people on here

[–] Vodulas@beehaw.org 8 points 1 day ago

Welp, I regrettably checked this out. Much like other folks have said, this is just a platform for hate speech and conspiracy theorists. Do not recommend

So the likes of The Quartering, Babylon Bee, and JP Sears on the front page don't bother you?

Edit: Whoops, I somehow missed Stephan fucking Molyneux

ESL means "English as a Second Language," so no need to get snarky. LLM means "large language model". I was complaining generally, not at you, but with other comments you made I am now less sure

100% agree, and now it is so hard to tell if the spelling oddities are an ESL thing or an LLM thing

[–] Vodulas@beehaw.org 1 points 3 days ago

lol, kinda, except ESL isn't really incompetence.

That was my initial assumption as well, but I have also seen other posts from them that had fewer mistakes. I figured I just ask instead of assume malice

Why do you only use "him" to describe workers? Also, people are not just valuable for their labor. That is some corpo nonsense.

Oh for sure, back when all he said was "here all of Tesla's patents. Feel free to use them" I also fell for it. I honestly don't think his views were any different, he just kept his mouth shut

I think at one point he was a software engineer. I don't he has been that for a long time, though. This is also probably not true any longer, but he did have a knack for spotting up and coming companies and buying them.

The Cybertruck is definitely the epitome of Musk's current "skills"

I think it is more nuanced than that. He has had a variable amount of involvement in multiple companies throughout the years, and noting when something is or is not his fault is not a bad thing.

Like I said before, he has been pretty heavily involved in Tesla since he bought the company. He notably makes a lot of decisions. SpaceX, on the other hand, is notably run by Gwynne Shotwell for a majority of decisions. He has made some design decisions, but he is pretty checked out on the day to day.

I don't think he was never a good engineer, but I think he has not done it in so long, that he has lost those skills. Also, if the alleged amount of ketamine he does is even kind of accurate, that does not help make good decisions. He also has almost nobody he will listen to. We can see all that reflected in the decline of good ideas coming out of Tesla (again, the company he is most involved in).

Hey y'all. My partner and I recently had an unexpected demolition in the first floor if our house and realized that we can probably leave room to run water lines for a CatGenie litterbox during the rebuild. Have any of you used them, and if so, are they worth it? We've had litter robot 3s for a few years and are less than impressed with the build quality, so just thinking about upgrading.

Is it possible to have a "style guide" for posting YouTube links? Usually there is just the title of the video and the generic YouTube blurb, and most of the time the title only vaguely tells you what the video is about. It would nice if in the description we could have folks post the length, the name of the creator, and a brief description of the video. If the creator has one, great, use that. If not, just a quick 1 or 2 sentence synopsis. I think this would help engagement for those posts a lot and just create better quality posts for video content. I know I don't watch or comment on any video post that just has a title.

It has been so great to see how horrible Vance is as a VP pick. I would hazard a guess that nobody else would say yes to Trump after he was willing to sacrifice Pence.

We went camping for the first time since getting the twin pomskis. They did so good! The fluffier pomski (Bliss) and the little havapoo (Poppy) were in a heated competition for who could bring home more of the forest floor.

It is a very hot weekend here in Seattle, but we got some disc golf in before it was miserable

I am very excited for the 1.0 release! My friends and I are currently playing a multiplayer game in Update 8, and we are so close to finishing all the space elevator parts for the first time.

I don't know if there is enough interest, but is it possible to get a maker community created? Some things like 3d printing don't always quite fit into DIY or Creative.

Ford and GM are probably regretting that switch to NACS...

We finished the last piece of the cat path I posted about earlier! This one goes from the laundry room, to the stairwell, and then into the guest bedroom on the upper floor (yes, I know the carpet needs replaced in that closet). They are already using them and seem to love the new path already.

My partner and I have been talking about making some cat paths in our house since long before we owned our house. We recently got 2 new dogs, so now it is a high priority project. The first step was putting up some shelves in the hallway and making a portal from the hallway to the bedroom closet (you can see it just above the tent). The surround for the portal is this 3D printed tunnel

The next project is going to be putting a portal from the spare bedroom into the stairwell so they can go up and down floors without the dogs being in the way

I am stripping and re-sealing a corner shower stall, and am having a hell of time removing all the old caulk. I also discovered the previous homeowners decided to just caulk over the previous caulk that was on there, so I am removing 2 or 3 layers depending on the location. It was leaking in the spots that had 3 layers so I think they just added more caulk to "fix" leaks. I have the chemical caulk remover, and that certainly helps, but it still is taking a metric fuck-ton of manual labor. Any tricks/suggestions for removal of very old caulk? I am about to throw a scotch brite on a palm sander and go to town.
