I'm too new here to be making these kinds of assumptions but whenever I see someone complaining about Ada and team, I'm thinking these might be 'free speech' people that want the right to enter every club without paying the admission, adhering to the dress code and full reign to insult the regulars, staff and owner. Real life doesn't work that way so why should social media?

So far I'm more than happy and impressed with the Blåhaj instance. And even if I move to another instance or mbin or something, I'm still happy to respect the Blåhaj way when I'm in that house.

This federation thing gives me a different outlook on this kind of thing compared to Reddit. When you say "admin" here, you're not talking about some rich incel, you're talking about people putting their time and effort into providing spaces for people to gather and form communities. Probably for little reward.

Yeah that's been one of the funniest parts to watch. It's been moderators versus admins but not users versus admins. Personally I think it's a pretty simple concept that the instance rules come first, then the community rules. I'm not surprised by anything I'm seeing or hearing on the admin side because I think it's pretty clear what to expect when you enter the place and read the sidebar.

Yeah honestly it's not that serious for me. Personally I've never even visited the front page of 4chan. It's a word that's been around since long before social media too, as far as I know. One other place I've seen it used is autism communities when someone is describing their feelings about fitting in, or not.

I feel like 4chan is a US-centric thing. And a niche one at that. So it's a very niche US-centric thing to assume about random strangers on the world wide web. For a word that a lot of people probably use differently.

Holy shit I had no idea. If these guys hadn't all kept their mouths shut, I might've been considering jumping ship earlier myself. There was brief panic after Scott was relieved of his duties but basically everyone on the inside was like "settle down everyone, nothing to see here", so it seemed all good.

Yeah this was kind of a similar story with Reddit at one point too. When I first looked into Reddit, it was because I had seen it included with the 'share' buttons on various websites and wanted to see what it was. I don't think it was as small as Lemmy when I joined but it was definitely never on the same plateau as Facebook and Twitter.

Well, I can now say that I've been around to witness my first big users versus moderators versus admins battle royale on Lemmy. And within my first week here! It's been fairly entertaining and also feels like I should have an achievement badge on my profile now. Just need the next achievement of being a participant in one of these matches.

Starting to make sense why Motor City Machine Guns (another good reason to switch) just packed up and left without so much as a mention on TV. Those guys bled TNA.

Edit: and I wonder if any of this has to do with Giselle Shaw disappearing.

If this guy is headed for WWE and doesn't just get lumped into a tag team with Penta again, even more reason for me to consider the switch. It would be pretty appropriate, considering that Lucha Underground was my original jumping off point away from WWE.

Fine going out on your back but to Tessa Blanchard? Come on now, so they're replacing Grace with Blanchard basically. I don't know but this almost feels the same as certain companies dropping DEI programs and certain social media platforms allowing forms of verbal abuse. The timing of hiring a scorned bigot as their next big star makes it seem like it was an easy decision.

If Jordynne Grace is WWE bound, maybe I'll follow. At the very least I'm more interested in checking out NXT than I have been in a long time. Although watch Tessa Blanchard get regularly used in this crossover that they're doing anyway.

Feeling like jumping ship a little right now. AEW kinda comes across as a little smarky for me and as someone that hasn't watched much, doesn't sound like they give women's wrestling nearly as much focus as TNA does.

What an alpha.

Part 2:

  • Apologies for bad formatting, working out how to mix bullet points and paragraphs
  • The Mack mentioned
  • Mike Santana vs. Josh Alexander: Both these guys! Both these guys! Also, I heard somewhere that Alexander was on his way out, guess this is it. I'd say that if TNA were a video game, he's clocked it now. And I hope that he makes a big splash in whichever bigger pond that he's headed to.
  • If the Hardy's are here to pass the torch at all eventually, it's gonna have to be to some clear cut heels because no one is getting cheered against them.
  • Rosemary vs. Masha Slamovich: the match that I've been really looking forward to. Rosemary is probably my favourite wrestler in TNA and overall for the better part of a decade now. Wish that I had caught the start of her career. Also, Taya Valkyrie (another favourite since Lucha Underground that I miss but didn't follow to WWE/AEW) was such a great pairing for her in Decay / Death Dolls.
  • Holy shit Slamovich looked this close to hitting her head on the edge of that second table when she came off that ladder. Seemed like a pretty short match to me, although it was intense. Wasn't expecting Rosemary to win. It's Masha's time now anyway.
  • Nic "Dolph Ziggler" Nemeth vs. Joe Hendry: gonna post now before finishing because I know the result
  • Pretty neutral on this. Joe Hendry is not my personal favourite but I don't mind him as champion and it's definitely his time right now.

That was some funny shit. Pretty sure there were some loud "fuck you Tessa" chants too.

Makes me even more disappointed that she won because if TNA now backs out of this (or Tessa backs out of it) to avoid crowds shitting on her like this for live PPVs, this ends with her on top again. And at the expense of someone way more invaluable to TNA and women's wrestling as a whole.
