There's way too many similarities between my dead-end call center job, and my new assistant director gig. It's all sales, always has been. This job is better, and I'm happier, I place too much of my self value into jobs and money. I've been learning kotlin for a few months now, and I've created a (buggy) version of pong that runs on my phone! Its only a hundred lines added to the main function, but it (kinda) works and I made it with no tutorial. Ha!

2 months into my new admin job, and it sounded much easier then my last gig at first, but had to get humble quick as things ive been doing wrong are hitting the fan. Still much happier overall.

Im not sure how saying "we need to shut down a factory that operates with human suffering" is obtuse.

[–] alottachairs@beehaw.org 0 points 1 year ago (3 children)

So the answer provided is no answer at all? We need to close any factory that operates with cruelty. There is no acception to be made.

Yes, so wouldnt shutting them down be good? We dont need slaughterhouses. I get meat "isnt going away" but if we should shut down facilities that operate with human cruelty.

Clarifying question, are you saying shutting down slaughter houses is human cruelty?

Hello! I've been a hobbyist programmer for a couple years, and now I want to turn this hobby into my day job. I find Android a fascinating platform so I've started my learning path. Google search, pointed me to google developer codelabs, and they pretty fun!

However, I'm getting a little stuck, and am looking for a community of android developers. I'm avoiding Twitter and Reddit at all costs, but a lot of resources have pointed me there, any other places I should check out, or learning resources other then Google themselves? For context, I'm learning Jetpack compose with Kotlin and Android Studio.

It's very simple, and just works out of the gate well. It's ubuntu without the spyware. I'm sure there are many other distros similar, what linux distro do you like?
