This is not a cult.

trying bottles but can't figure out where to download the dll file that you and the website are talking about. can't see anything to click on.

i copied the exe file to my linux mint 22.1 system and added the game as a non steam game. it installed, but the game won't run

using steam i've tried proton 9.0-4 and also proton hotfix and proton 3.16-9 just for giggles I tried unchecking "force the use of a specific steam play compatibility tool"

when i click on the game in steam the green "play" button switches to a blue "stop" button but then just goes back to a green "play" button.

i'm thinking it's to old for steam to be able to run it. (maybe?)

any thoughts on another way to get this old as hell game to run?

edit: should say that the version of the game I am running is Flux . there are other versions like Flux LE and flux uplink and other versions. mine is just Flux (which was the full version of the game.)

Not sure if this counts but the wiki site for Guild Wars 2. It’s a wiki but not directly in wiki.com

If you have an iPhone get plantnet it's an app that you can take a picture of the leaves or flowers and it will tell you what the plant is. Might be available on android

Holmes Family Rescue

In this TV show Mike Holmes and his son And daughter Fix people‘s homes that were renovated, but for whatever reason the renovation went horribly wrong. Mike and his family go in and they fix the home properly.

Well, I’m curious is for the actual home owner family, the family who actually owns the home, how much input do they have on the changes that are made to their house? Like for example, if they repaint room, does the home owner actually get a say in the color of the paint? If a wall was taken down make more of an open concept, does the homeowner actually get a say? If the outside of the house had brick on it. Does the homeowner see if that brick is painted?

I’ve been watching Mike Holmes for many years now and sometimes it seems like the family that he is helping out. Doesn’t really even know what’s happening until the job is done. What I mean is the homeowner family calls Mike or writes to Mike and says please help. Mike then goes through the house with the family to find out what was wrong and what family was trying to accomplish.

Then the family basically leaves the house for a period of time while Mike and his crew come in and fix the problems. But while fixing the problems, obviously some things have to be torn down. But when they are rebuilt, I’m wondering how much say does the homeowner really have as it’s rebuilt, in other words what it looks like.

Video in question

What she says is that she got equity in the divorce, but when she graduates school, she has to refinance and then pay the equity back.

I need somebody who understands finance to help me answer these questions. Is what she is saying that she got the equity at the time divorce, then when she graduates school, she takes out a loan and uses that loan to pay the equity back to the ex-husband?

The second question: if the above is the case, and in the context of the video, if she doesn’t think he will live that long, Why would she want to forgo the alimony then?

I mean, she isn’t getting the alimony right now, but she has the equity in the house which it sounds like she got that already, if he dies early well then she just basically keeps the equity so I’m not sure why she wants to Make the change she wants to make.

I’m not looking for the emotional answers of she’s a money grabber or a horrible person or any of those sorts of answers. Because that’s not what I’m asking.

What I’m trying to understand is the financial piece of it.

Because she said she would be willing to forgo the alimony if she could just have the equity now. But it sounds like she she’s already got the equity so I’m really confused.

Can someone watch that video and try to help me understand what financial benefit she’s going after?

video short of the episode in question

anyone know which episode of Star Wars Clone Wars this video is from?

Color me shocked

I don’t mean singing in a foreign language, I mean if they aren’t enunciating their words.

There is a style of singing where the singer rolls one word into the next word, or just cuts a word off. I find it distracting and I tend to skip the song very quickly when I realize what they are doing.

While it is a popular way to sing, I have never enjoyed it. I heard some of it in the 1980s but it wasn’t widely used. Today I find a lot more singers doing it.

There is no way to play out a full story by splitting the screen time for 3 stories. Even splitting it for 2 stories is not a good idea. By splitting the time that many ways it’s basically impossible to really flesh out a story and add depth. In a one hour episode you really only get 40 minutes of air time. If you split that for two stories you get 20 minutes of screen time to tell a story. 3 ways? Yeah now you are just wasting a show. You only get 13 minutes to tell a story.

Combine the above with the fact that we have less and less episodes per season, and This creates a real problem to tell a story of any sort

If you don’t tell the people why you are leaving, they don’t know what is going on. And this applies to businesses it applies to stores it applies to companies. It even applies to social media accounts. It even applies to your friends and family.

If you tell people why you are leaving, at least they can make a decision if they want to change or not. If the company or whatever is seeing less people coming in, but nobody will say why they’re leaving. How can they make the change?

There’s no realistic way that a manager or a host or the owner of a business or whatever could realistically ask every single person who comes through the door hey are you happy? Are you coming back? Is there anything we should change? That’s not real.

If you aren’t happy and you don’t say what is making you unhappy. Then that’s on you.

Not the business or the social media site or whatever.

They can’t read minds.

According to Brother (printer company) I need to set a rule for my firewall.

brother printer instructions

as you can see at that page it says :

To scan using the Scan Key Tool, open the following ports in the security/firewall software you use:

  • UDP: 54925
  • TCP: 54921

I think I have it correct. but i'm new to linux and to creating rules in firewalls.

Those screenshots of how i created the firewall rule. I have the incoming set to "Deny" but I would assume that means that normally deny incoming BUT the rules I created should be exceptions. At least that's how I would read that. If I am wrong please let me know.

The important part is that according to the instructions ports

  • UDP: 54925
  • TCP: 54921

must be opened and allow incoming traffic.

my end goal is to have the ability to push the "Scan" button on my printer/scanner and have a document scan and pushed to the computer. I am running Linux Mint 22.1

If you need more information to help me I'm happy to reply. The big item is :

is the firewall rule created correctly?

I should add that I did create a previous post about my brother printer and I went through brother to make sure the drivers are installed and setup . so that issue has been solved, now it's just the firewall.
