so true. we also have a bird bath and on days where i get busy with work calls & forget to top it off, i'm gutted to see the birdies standing around looking for a drink only to be disappointed.

gotta fixture out goes to automate topping it off without flooding the rest of the yard

agree with what everyone else has said here. worry less about "should" and go find your tribe wherever it may be.

as i once said to a friend who contemplated the same kind of move years ago, if it doesn't work out you can always move back. not like it's a one way street.

i had this question a couple of days ago and today fell totally down the fuck spez rabbithole.

found myself on the main discord where the coordinators were talking to uruguay about doing the "u" after columbia (?) declined. guess hearing that, both uruguay and equador wanted in.

there was discussion of not stepping over the swiss flag in one of the letter because they were part of the coalition.

these folks are dedicated - many commented they hadn't really slept since it went live. kudos to all of them for the passion they showed today.

tbh it was impressive and one of the best executed operations i've seen in a long time. very fun to see up close.

working for a global multinational company i only wish we were this efficient internally ❤️

was a 5 year redditor before bailing last month but never paid attention to r/place until now (fascinating!)

can someone familiar with the inner workings of it please explain to me how it logistically works?

like how do they coordinate creating the flags, logos -- most importantly the "fuck spez" messages'.

i believe i read a user can only change one pixel every so often? if true, how is it determined who puts something down, who goes next ...etc.

any light anyone can shed on this would be much appreciated!

these are from a place in bellevue wa that specializes in them.

and feiw have been all over europe & asia but japan is hands down my favorite place to visit ever.

tokyo is a monster of a great city ... foreign as you can get but amazingly easy to navigate.

very nice people, terrific food city with a really old beautiful culture.

all i can offer for advice is to not over think it. find a flight and hotel in your budget and just do it. guarantee you won't be disappointed ❤️

Whipped cream & strawberries between fluffy slices of shokupan is highly underrated as dinner.

Traveling for business and got this delivered via grub hub. Total shot in the dark as to whether it was going to be any good or not. Can honestly say its the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. Sunday sighs of contentment.

my biggest tip is that if you're on ios get wefef. great app that makes the lemmy experience beautiful and seamless.

when you read a comment from c/all from a community you want to join you can click on the community c/link to see all the posts from that community.

then use the three dots in the app at the top right to subscribe. soooo much easier than trying to search for a community from the web ux.

and i guess the other tip is to just manage your expectations - reddit wasn't built in a day and it'll take a while for all of our niche communities to create new homes here 🥰

hopefully whatever you were making with that sour cream will survive the beef rawhide replacement 🤣

so we missed it when it started and are playing catch-up. one episode to go but man, is it just me or is this one of the best series in recent memory?

great acting - best direction. the thing i'm most stumped by is that there's only 4 seasons. can completely see at least another season here right?

reddit searches (lemmy.one)

just a reminder that much of reddit's collective zeitgeist up to sept 2021 is available via chat-gpt, you just need to ask it the right way.

i've gotten best results by saying "what are common ways mentioned on reddit to

you'll need to create an account for chat-gpt - no credit card needed.

aldo the new search function in bing uses chat-gpt on the backend but combines it with bing data for more up to date content.

hey there wondering if it doesn't already exist if we could create a a parallel community here for r/mods to coordinate on? i suspect that Spez or spezbots are all over the r/ and thought maybe they could use a space that's w i'd untouchable by tptb?

[-] angrylittlekitty@lemmy.one 8 points 1 year ago

wonder if regular carpet bombing the open subs with a black "Reddit is killing third-party app (and itself)" might be effective? gives the mods an "out" because it's not against TOS - and if it were widespread enough eventually a few of them will hit front page

Only after living here in Lemmyville where people still practice this civility did I realize that I've gotten in the bad habit of not capitalizing my sentences properly and now feel like the child raised by wolves now having tea with ye townsfolk.

I believe Reddit is to blame... because everything bad comes from them right?

Full transparency I was mostly in lurk/comment mode vs post and never cared about karma. No kids to have trained me this way. I swipe my keyboard which doesn't do capitalization.

My working hypothesis is that with reportedly 400m users, quantity and speed to grab karma is more important than taking time to thoughtfully compose something. Its like 24/7 monkey with a gun redditing.

And like me, even if you're not "playing" the culture still rubs off on you.

So now i'm wondering does this even matter or am I just over thinking this (wouldn't be the first time).

Is formatting more important than the contribution? Because it just took me 5 mins to type this all out nicely and think i'll going to be limited in what I can contribute if every post takes this long 🤣

you're right - really well spelled out in a way even a non techie can understand. should be pinned to every sub that goes live again tomorrow
