Thank you, it's very kind of you to say. Thankfully, I hadn't made any changes in the last few days so everything is fully backed up. A silver lining to an otherwise unfortunate event

Ubuntu... But I just realised I've been ransomwared.

Guess I'm spending my Monday recovering from backups. Fun fun fun!

Over night, Plex has decided that it can't see any of my library files for movies and TV shows. They were fine before, they have been for years. Only music is unaffected.

I get a message saying "movies is empty. Expecting more? Visit the manage libraries page"

I've tried creating a new library pointing to the same directory, but that one shows the same error in the end.

Had a look on the forums, but not found anything relevant

Apple would be looking at a fine of over $35 billion. To put that into perspective, that is equivalent to half of Apple's iPhone sales evaporating instantly.

Now that's pretty spicy! I'm glad something is finally being done to try and break up the iron grip these companies have on the world. Shame it's happening at such a glacial pace though

The EC expects its investigations to conclude within 12 months.

This link doesn't work for me

I love this. I have to know what the wider context of it is. Is there more?

Maybe not the best, and perhaps not quite considered London, but I always love the black lab just outside clapham common station.

I'm disappointed in myself for only discovering this now. Thanks for introducing me to it! Can't wait to watch it

You could try a stand mixer. I dont think there's a way to develop gluten without kneeding

Dont let your dreams be dreams

Obviously, we all love James, but is there anyone else you subscribe to?

Personally, I watch Lance Hedrick. I like what he does, but his vids tend to be super nerdy, so might not be everyone's cup of tea

Everyone keeps saying it's the best media player, so I'm interested in getting one, but I haven't had a google account for many years now and don't want to create a new one just for this.

Does anyone know if it's possible to run one without a google account?

Edit: I would only want to use it for Plex and maybe youtube

Basically the title.

I remember them being extortionately expensive when they came out, but was surprised that they're "only" $80 with a puck screen, which seems fairly reasonable.

Just curious if people have tried it and whether it's worth it.

I recently broke my coffee carafe, so I'm on the market for a new one, and I was hoping to get some recommendations from people on here.

Preferably, it would be a double walled glass one, but I've really struggled to find many options. I've only really seen one offering from fellow, which is just a bit small for my needs, since I usually brew about 700ml. There's also the fact that it's quite pricey...

Anyone have any experiences with it? Is it actually worth it? Are there other options that fit the bill? Am I looking for the wrong thing entirely and maybe you can tell me why

I currently have my Plex server open to the world. I realise that's probably not best practice, so I'm trying to find a solution that can work for me.

I've been looking at cloudflare tunnels and it seems like thats probably what I want. Giving me access to my home server from outside. And it's free, which is a nice perk

I've noticed however that the terms of service don't allow for video streaming, but is allowed in the paid tier. Before I commit to spending money, I'm curious if it's even technically possible. Plex tends to phone home to allow users to authenticate and locate their servers, so is that possible through tunnels?

Is this a waste of time? Is there a better solution? How are others dealing with this problem?

I have a phone with a Spanish Sim, but when I'm abroad, I still get websites redirect me to the Spanish version, when I'd prefer to see the local one. This happens even when I'm on WiFi, but I'm guessing it's something to do with my Sim?

Does anyone know how they do this, and if there is a way of overriding it?
