Well this is what I was waiting for. We're boned

It's like not standing for anything and sacrificing your party's morals in the name of "compromise" isn't a solid strategy

This is something I'm also interested in

Does anyone know of any bluesky accounts that feature tallahassee news and communities?

I did a general search, but didn't find much.

Also any other alternative social media options for tallahassee would be cool if you know any.

I'm hopeful this will all lead to America's farmers breaking from the republican party.

I fear american farmers will go bankrupt and all their land will be bought by corporations.

Honestly same. I haven't spoken with my dad in months thanks to his MAGA views. I blame this "fuck you I got mine" as a result of community destruction

Let's not be unreasonable, there can be multiple causes and multiple solutions.

Those countries also used to have a more communal structure amongst families and that still was dismantled.

But they actually implemented social programs and living wages making it not an issue.

Also yes it is capitalism fault. It all is, including the dismantling of our communities to favor more isolated living. It's design to separate us and disempower the worker.

That probably explains the censorship crackdowns

I'd blame a lot of this on the destruction of our communal living patterns. We used to live in extended family groups. It was reasonable and expected to live with your parents and siblings. If you did leave the family home it often was just to build a home on the same property.

But then the idea of the nuclear family was popularized, probably to make more money and sell house, and here we are.

To be clear since what I said has been immediately misinterpreted, family centric living patterns were torn apart by capitalism. It heavily favors capitalism when we are separated from each other and lose community. This wasn't a benign social shift

Fire red will always be my number one as it was my first game.

Otherwise it's a hard choice between Sapphire and Heartgold. Both had great regions and lots to do.

My most played would be Diamond and it was good, but sinnoh was never my favorite region.

I don't think he'll live more than 4 years anyway. Hopefully the movement collapses when he does

I made a comment self censored to "Mario bros" on reddit. Got a permanent ban. They're going scorched earth on anything moderately inflammatory

And this is why I'm glad I moved to lemmy. I was banned for supporting Luigi. A permanent ban, after 12 years.

Lemmy has a bit of a learning curve, but in time it's UI will improve. Then it's user base will grow. Honestly it's not that hard to use, but there's a bit of a learning curve.

I don't want it to get reddit sized by any means, but for longer term success it'll need a significant increase in traffic. Which reddit's admins will be providing with all these bans.

What is your unconventional prep. Something that you think is uncommon or weird, but will always keep extras of?

Personally I've been really big on keeping canned pumpkin on hand. While it's not the most nutrient dense food around it has the most fiber out of any canned item I can find and adds a new taste to everything. Goes great in mashed potatoes and soup.

Hi everyone this is just a simple welcome post. The community rules are simple, keep it related to Tallahassee and be nice.

So far there are no plans for the community, but suggestions are welcome. I hope to run this page in an open door and welcoming manner.
