It's because you're still supporting them. That crap you see puts money in Zucker's pocket. Delete your account and it will stop.

When authoritarian governments have complete power they don't really checks and balances to the system, or juries. Take Putin - Navalny for example. You would know this if you aren't a Holocaust denier.

I like Moovit, but since it's a tracker and battery nightmare, I have to freeze it when I don't need it. Other than that, I think it does probably the best job it can. If you can't read the bus, get on and ask the driver, showing him the app directions.

Is there a written, agreed upon set of guidelines for the community? In other words, what do expect of a moderator?

As for the USA, let me put it this way: If Trump gets elected, with the tech tools the govt has, we will see, at the very best, another Hong Kong, with anyone that disfavors the Repubs disappearing, some permanently. At the worst, we will see another Nazi Germany. He himself proposed executing people.

If you practice privacy and can teach others, your skills will be valuable to the underground resistance.

Ya, I really love "kind-hearted, compassionate people" who support forcing raped teenage girls to have babies. Because that is what Trump stands for. In fact, it's pretty credible that he raped one himself at Epstein's compound. Those idiots have no clue what kind-hearted or compassionate means.

PayPal has hired Mark Grether, who formerly led Uber’s advertising business, to lead the effort as senior vice president and general manager of its newly-created PayPal Ads division.

I'm not sure where to ask this so I started here: here: Is there a Lemmy client that has a filter. I want to hide posts from particular accounts. Like anyone for hexbear, for example. I know I can set up my own instance, but that's more work than I want right now. I was hoping someone knew a client that could do this.

CDC issued an alert after identification of locally acquired malaria cases (P. vivax) in two U.S. states (Florida [4] and Texas [1]) within the last 2 months. Locally acquired mosquito-borne malaria has not occurred in the United States since 2003 when eight cases of locally acquired P. vivax malaria were identified in Palm Beach County, FL (1). Mosquito surveillance and control measures have been implemented in the affected area.
