Signal is my go to. Some of my friends refuse to download it, so I just text them. I'll use iMessage on iOS and Google Messages on Android. But if I can use Signal, I will

Those users aren't intelligent enough to understand what the Fediverse is, why they should use it, or even how to sign up.

No repost bots, karma farming, or idiots (mostly). The learning curve to joining the fediverse filters out your average facebook/twitter type that Reddit is filled with today. Lemmy right now is how Reddit was a decade ago

It's too tiring going back and forth with these types of Reddit users. I gave up and just chill here

Obvious satire, and pretty funny as well

I'm loving it so far. It's snappy and has no bloat. Just a solid, familiar and well made OS

I found that discord is mostly filled with immature teenagers. It's tough to have a mature discussion there

Graphene os IS Android though. It's literally Android with every app working, just sandboxed so no Google tracking

If you look up Graphene OS, it's possible to have smart phone and use smart features and Google apps without being spied on. The OS runs all those apps in a sandbox with no permissions. It's pretty cool, but only for Pixel phones and you need some technical know-how to flash the rom (if you understand how Lemmy works though you're probably pretty tech savvy already).

Zorin OS right now

I've dabbled with Linux over the years, first with Ubuntu in the early 2010s, then Elementary OS when that dropped, and a few years ago I really enjoyed how customizable the gui was with Xubuntu. I was able to make it look just like WIndows 2000 which was really cool.

Which current distro has the best GUI, in your opinion? I find modern Ubuntu to feel a little basic and cheap. I guess I don't really like modern Gnome. I'm currently using Windows 10 LTSC which is probably the best possible version of Windows, but I'd jump to linux if I could find a distro with a gui that feels at least as polished and feature rich as Windows 10 LTSC.
