Love the Meze 99 Classics, worth every penny!

[–] bloopernova@programming.dev 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

PC Spotify -> Schiit Modi -> Schiit Vali 2 -> PreSonus Eris E4.5 speakers.

Or

Pixel 8 Pro Spotify -> "TempoTec Sonata HD PRO" USB DAC -> Meze 99 Classic headphones.

Does anyone think it's worth moving to Tidal for my music?

Also, I'm running out of space on my desk. I can put the stack of Schiit on top of a speaker with minimal effects, right?

I wasn't trying to outdo them. I expressed myself badly. I was trying to say that different temps around the world affect people the same way, it's what you're used to. Sorry for the confusion.

I wasn't offended at all, I was just sympathizing with you, but I must have expressed it poorly because I got those downvotes.

I really liked reading this thread, thank you for making it!

In the USA, there's a huge difference in winter temperatures across the country. In Florida they might consider it cold if it's 10 Celsius, and in Minnesota that would be considered very warm! It's really weird how much the human body can adapt and get used to a temperature. Personally I like it best at 50 fahrenheit / 10 Celsius.

Keep on making posts!

I don't. I'm on painkillers long term, and mixing them with alcohol is not recommended. However, I didn't really like drinking before, and I don't miss it now.

Not trying to say your temperature is not brutal, single digit Celsius can be really nasty for humans. In Michigan in the USA, it can reach -20c in winter, and -40 with high wind chill. You learn to layer and use wind proof outer layers very quickly!

Kyanite Toothpick is another cool track from that album, so is Mindful Solutionism.

100M copies... printed

With an endorsement like that, you can't go wrong!

At least thunderbolt cables are somewhat straightforward.

They name by committee. So every corporation that is in the USB standards group will argue for whatever benefits them, with no consideration for consumers.

I fucking hate it. Buy a USB C cable and it's a crapshoot whether it's USB 2 with no power delivery, or poor quality with power delivery. Just trying to find a good quality USB 3 cable is difficult, with 3.1 or 3.2, x2 or not, shitty control chips, etc etc.

I use a yubikey daily too. I have a USB hub that clamps to the edge of my desk, so I can leave the yubikey in there with no extra mess.

Not this specific one, but you get the general idea: https://www.amazon.com/HYWHUYANG-USB3-1-10Gbps-Computer-Transmission/dp/B0CNKQMXFD/
