Not it's 100% tied to the resurgence of white supremacy. These conservatives groups are backed by humongous PACs that fund groups that push their agenda. Just like with turningpointusa and groups like that. Don't mistake careful planning masked by racist zealots as idiocy.

It's important to be said that you have to be very careful when playing a satire character, because if you're not you will just become the satire character. Larry the Cable Guy is not even from the south. If you're doing something ironically or you like something ironically you have to make sure that it's something that you're okay with doing unironically or that you really take care to separate yourself from that thing in certain ways otherwise you will start to believe, like, and/or do those things unironically
It's all of these really, killing minorities, preventing people from aborting their future workers, dividing people on social issues so they can't come together to fix the system, and doing all that while creating a voterbase that blindly supports them. Dems are pretty similar. They just piggyback off of what the right is doing and say "we won't do that!!" While still quietly letting most of it happen because they're also in it to hoard wealth and power.
They're not trying to kill children, they want workers, it's about keeping people preoccupied with social issues like that so they ignore the wealth hoarding and corruption going on
