Interesting that this Lemmy post is referencing an article from June 2024 that was referencing this reddit post from October 2023 that was referencing this article from from earlier in October 2023.

I'm not sure I understand this. Small scale fluctuations are the easiest things to achieve, in fact they occur spontaneously. It's the large scale fluctuations that would be difficult to achieve.

For example if you have a room filled with air, then changing the temperature of all the air in the room would require doing a lot of work or transferring a lot of heat to the entire room. But on the microscale, if you were to look at a random 1 micrometer cube volume of the air, then you should expect temperature fluctuations to occur all the time, even without the addition of heat or work to the room.

It's like staring at static on a tv screen. The overall shade of the entire screen is middle gray and over time stays gray, but unsurprisingly individual pixels will fluctuate randomly between pure black and pure white. Small scale fluctuations occur spontaneously.

Man, that's too bad. There's some decent potential here if they could get it to work. You'd think this kind of AR stuff would be pretty robust by now.

No offense, but that's it? A logo appears? There's no motion graphics or anything? No 3D model of the artifact pops up with swirling colored gases leaking out? Just a flat, white SVG.

So some kind of flexible peltier device? Could be useful for applications that need a few mW or μW of power.

That increase in overall launches matches the increase by SpaceX alone, which performed 134 Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launches in 2024, up from 96 in 2023. The company performed more orbital launches than the rest of the world combined.

Holy shit.

Yep, makes sense. Thanks for your efforts!

Great list, thanks for putting that together!

Yeah I get it, I don't really have personal social media accounts, but I'd open them for a business.

If you're going to go the content production route then that's another whole ball of wax. Can be very good for business if it takes off, but you'd have to figure out your strategy for that and execute on it. Customer builds or just stuff you're building in general can be good. It shows off the process and generates trust/desirability. If someone buys a custom piece, it's kind of nice to have its story fully documented.

But content production, editing, publishing and social media interaction takes time, skill & effort. It can be quite the commitment to do it right.

New take on the color pie, hopefully easier to read.
