I’m pretty terrified of whats to come.

I see a lot of people say stuff like this and I feel like I'm just waiting around for the collapse yet it keeps not happening.

It kinda reminds me of growing up religious and people being very sure the world was gonna end any minute now and of course it never did.

I was briefly dating a guy who worked at a school being the IT guy and he just fixed network connections for the kids ipad's all day. And he said all the classes and work were done on ipads.

The left wing extremism is part of why I don't have a lot of in real life friends anymore where I live. I've had to either distance myself from people or just stop talking to them at all because they don't think I'm good enough or something.

Like earlier this year I joined a meet up group in my area and I guess I made the mistake of asking about pride events because somehow that conversation turned into someone saying "you're a fucking idiot if you don't question your gender" and other fantastic concepts like "if you're cis you're dumb"

Nope. I live in the pacific northwest of the US and there's something here called the "Freeze" and some people refer to it as the "ice out" but it's a term for how people in this region don't really like making new friends. A lot of people here are very against talking to strangers.

Same here. I lost most of my friends after COVID.

Another one is how people will only watch things that are on Netflix or whatever the popular streaming app is now. Some people have asked me for film suggestions but when they find out that it’s not on Netflix, they lose interest even if I provide them with a link to it from archive.org or other very special places.

I hate this too. If its not on a streaming platform, I find most people are perplexed by it. People can't believe that I still watch old media either. They only want to watch brand new things. It's like they need to consume what's new and popular only.

For example, EA was voted “Worst Company in America” multiple years in a row, when it’s really just a software company whose worst sins would probably amount to gross overworking/general poor treatment of their employees

I know its not a tragedy or anything but they did ruin my favorite game. So that's why I don't like them.

I feel like its usually accompanied by things like "this person did a deep dive on this subject, you should watch this!"

Like.. I can spend 6 hours doing a deep dive myself?

oh I've never seen an infused olive oil here. Which is interesting, I feel like the stores here have giant sections dedicated to various brands of olive oil and extra virgin olive oil - but never an infused one.

I don't know. I do season vegetables when I cook them. I do use olive oil. But I need more than just salt on something for it to taste good I think. Cause just seasoning on anything is still too plain for me. Like I put garlic powder and salt and pepper on them and they still have that veggie taste that I can't get past.
