I feel like having a lemmy app on my phone is more than enough to block me from entering the US.

Absolutely!

I have family in the US. Uncles and aunts and cousins. One of my cousins have a child who I've never met. I would love to meet them all.

But there is no way I'm going to the states in the current condition. And even if the administration would be replaced, I think it would take years for the states to recover to the point where I would visit.

But honestly, disconnection from the US cloud providers is a lot bigger than you seem to think. A ton of governmental services are hosted on US cloud providers. Pulling that plug would mean blackout for a crapload of governmental services, which we have grown to depend on.

I'm not vegan, but sometimes I give a small thought towards the chicken that I eat. It lived a life. Maybe it had a personality. I don't know. Some chicken had it's end of life to end up on my plate.

However, that chicken in the aspic in a melon really did not get a justified legacy.

About the same with my vw passat.

Absolutely not, but american trends have a thing for affecting the rest of the world. There are a lot of conflicts around in Europe as well, which could make people seek ways to protect themselves and their families. And I hope that introducing guns as some household item is not something that happens in Europe anytime soon.

...if you live in the US. If you live elsewhere, please don't own a gun. We really don't want to get that snowball rolling.

If so, we have another job for it

Those titles are interchangeable.

Just throwing out a suggestion: choir.

Never tried it myself, but I have heard a lot of people build good relationships there.

I partly agree. I love pinapple on pizza and burgers, but only when I want the food to have that particular taste. The sweetness and sourness of pineapple is all-consuming flavor to me, and I don't always want other flavors to be hidden behind the pineapple.

If inciting an insurrection towards their own government is an action without legal repercussions, I don't see how the law would be less lenient about straight up firing a gun at an opponent.

I by no means want any party to resolve to violent tactics. So even though I play with the thought, I really don't want anything like it to happen. I am just curious if it's actually the case that a sitting president has now effectively a licence to kill.

What am I missing?

I created an account on mastodon.social a few days ago. A day after creation, my account was suspended. My appeal was denied and no reason was given. So I assumed mastodon.social was not accepting new accounts, so I moved over to mastodon.online and created an account there. Today that account was suspended as well, again without reason. I didn't post anything from either account. My only actions were to follow a few people within tech.

Looking at previous posts here, people are laughing at complaints about difficulties of joining mastodon and pushing it away as a simple task. I have now attempted to join two of the highest suggested servers of mastodon and gotten suspended from both. I am uninterested in shotgunning servers until I find one which doesn't suspend me without reason.

How is the onboarding process of mastodon supposed to work if the top suggested servers are suspending new accounts without warning or reason?
