Maybe Photoprism isn't a backup strategy, but Syncthing for sure is, because you can have multiple backup units in it.

I'm additionally use software RAID on one of devices, that receives Syncthing backups.

No, you can't. Your instance will go down, but all your posts and comments will still live in read-only mode on the instances they been federated before.

In mastodon (another activity pub service) you can export your account with subscriptions, but not the posts. So, if it'll happen, you gotta start from scratch.

  • Btrfs for local system backups based on snapshots
  • Photoprism for photos
  • Syncthing for other media

I like vscode. Even after paying for intellij, I find it's look, which is much cleaner, and speed, which is far more better than intellij's.

Use neovim then (if you don't like vscodium). It can be configured as IDE, but its hard to remember all keybindings.

They already blocked it for unregistered users. There's only that annoying overlay, that forces you to install their app.

No ads and the fact, that it is open source and community driven.

I like GitHub stats for jerboa and lemmy-ui.

Hm, I was thinking opposite about HP, because there's hplib or something like that for Linux, that is made by UP and stays in a tray. Not exactly sure, because I don't have HP printer anymore, but that was a thing like 5yrs ago

I'm not upset about their political views. For me its just too painful to read something like "Russia didn't start that war, its NATO" while I'm currently fleeing from conscription to Russian army to fight against Ukrainian people I respect more than citizens of my motherland.

So, I make only choice I find suitable in that situation: avoid places where this behaviour is fine for mods and gains upvotes.

That's great, thank you! Went to jerboa gh repo yesterday to check out stats and was pleased to see good spike on commit count just after reddit situation began.
