you probably know this already, but one of the nice things about hide glue is that it doesn't show up in the finish if you don't clean it up perfectly the way PVA glues do. of course, you may have more limited access after glue up like Bradley said.

one idea -full disclosure, I've never tried this - would be to apply a layer of hide glue as a masking agent. since hide glue is reversible, and assuming you'll have good access to the masked area after you apply the oil finish, you should be able to remove that high glue with heat and moisture after you're finish is applied.

brittle. brittle materials fail in the elastic portion of the stress strain diagram

people are generally ok. put them in a situation where they can climb over other people to advance and watch the rot begin.

so, while people are generally ok, corporate people are generally not.

this assumes a ductile material. I myself am smiling as though everything is fine in the elastic region and may snap at any moment.

personally, I have no desire to live longer than I'm intended to. living to that age with more vitality, however, that sounds great!

do you mean fusion? fusions the one that separate atomic nuclei that we've had since the 1940's. fusions the one where atomic nuclei are combined, that make headlines when the reactors run for more than a few seconds

whilst updating the firmware on my Epson printer, I was presented with their updated EULA which - shock and surprise /s- limits users rights to seek relief in court or participate as part of a class in any class action suit.

While you can't update the firmware without accepting the terms of the new EULA, they do describe a way to opt-out of the provisions which limit your legal rights. You simply need to send a letter to them saying you want to opt out of those provisions. ** BUT** you only have 30 days from the date you accept the EULA to opt-out.

For anyone inclined, I've included a template of the letter I sent for myself to save others time in doing the same.

do any off the Lemmy or kbin apps provide a way to browse instances other than your own? kind of like filtering for "local" posts but local to another federated instance.

I've subscribed to communities from other instances once I find ones I like. but the only way I can "find" them it's if I see an interesting post when I filter for "all" posts - what some other site might refer to as a post making it to the front page

I guess I could hunt from a web browser to do that, but I'd rather not have to switch between apps to do that
