Even if he’s scum of the earth (doubt it) the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

He seems run of the mill rich gen z tech bro with serious back problems. Which makes his points even stronger being a traitor to his class. Assuming he’s the shooter.

This story isn’t going away and the rich -especially those rich from blatantly problematic industries - should be scared.

There’s a very deep genuine anger in this country and it’s tied to emotionally charged life or death issues. I’m just surprised it’s taken this long for the powder keg to start to blow…

Yeah, they already have the tech, but that’s like comparing todays iPhone to yesterdays Nokia brick. They’re both cell phones…

It’s probably US military or US military contractors (second more likely IMO). Normally they’d be testing somewhere remote… the fact that they aren’t suggests they need a populated area to do testing.

Im taking bets this is some kind of new surveillance drone tech. Would not be surprised if they’re doing facial recognition shit from the sky.

Sorry I sound insane and paranoid. It’s a strong gut feeling. If it were foreign actors it would be shot out of the sky. If it were hobbyists it would be shot out of the sky. Of course the governments gonna play dumb and be like we have no idea what this is!

We can’t rule out aliens but I think it’s far more likely US military contractor testing out spy drones.

It’s not my art. It’s how you view art in general as “disposable”.

“Disposable art” see, you’re telling on yourself about how you view art and artists. There’s a reason people aren’t a fan of this even if you’re doing it as “ethically” as possible.

That’s what I meant

Ok but can you explain because I’m not seeing the connection.

That’s up for the ~~cops~~ courts to prove. This is a sham case. If trump said that shit he would be applauded “oh that’s just trump being trump!”

And who is openAI compensating for their work?

At least adobe is compensating creators. No other big name AI company is doing that. Anyone who uses AI to make “art” is complicit in this theft.

The rest of your argument is putting words in my mouth. Do better. AI is hot garbage and a waste of natural resources.

[–] inv3r5ion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Don’t get me wrong I hate adobe. But. They at least got AI right. These aren’t big corporations you’re “stealing” movies from. They’re everyday people like myself who’s art is being used by AI for training against my wishes.

They’re not only losing $ they’re also having their work reproduced in a way they don’t support.

Just because it’s cents doesn’t mean it’s “no money”.

I didn’t post my artwork online just to get ripped off by AI and tech bros who see nothing wrong with stealing work from artists.

And so long as we exist under this shit ass system we shouldn’t be stealing from working class artists. It is theft.
