Are you talking about campus police across all the universities? You aren't wrong that they are terrible, but the amount of funding for campus police is not that much and nothing compared to what's required for research.
My girlfriend used to work at a lab at a top university during her undergrad helping postdocs with their research for treating Alzheimer's. What they do there is groundbreaking, but expensive. Postdocs don't even get paid well; most of their funding goes directly into research. Cutting the funding does not help anyone at all.
I'm very worried. I just started my Master's program, and after I'll be finished in about 1-2 years, I plan to apply to PhD programs around the country. It's already super competitive, and with the upcoming funding cuts, I might not even get accepted anywhere in the U.S.
Just our instance. I signed up today and the instance keeps on going to a 504 Gateway Timeout. The main instance (pixelfed.social) works fine. I might switch.
I'm on SDF's Mastodon instance, specifically social.sdf.org for members, and I am have issues with custom emoji from other instances as shown in the picture.
Does anyone else have this issue? Instances like mastodon.sdf.org and social.sdfeu.org don't have this problem.
We have grass in the front and a backyard with fruits and veggies.
Pretty sure it's an instance issue. The same exact account in the picture attached shows up fine with custom emojis on mastodon.sdf.org and social.sdfeu.org.
I've sent membership@sdf.org an email; however, I've emailed them a couple times before regarding other things and have never received responses back...
