I'm going to get roasted for this, but even knowing HR is an advocate for capital / management, part of their job is removing some of the shittiest parts of sharing a workspace with bigots and bullies. Even if it is just to lower their liability exposure.

To whit : a (less than genius) dude posted on (coupla companies ago) corp chat app some shit about trans athletes in grade school, and I replied "as a trans person this feels threatening," and that shit was gone and I never heard from him again.

You're still doing it.

Blocked.

Yeah but [wall of text]

it also gets used to sweep normal people into all

Trans people are "normal people."

but it isn’t because they all personally hate queer people

Oh, but they do. They do. From the death threats to the "oh no I kissed a trans person gag sounds" "joke" to the existence of the Trans Panic defense. The ones who use us are also deadly serious with hate.

Look, I get it, your heart is in the right place. But when a minority tells you, straight out, "hey, this is not okay," pay attention, and put those hand-wavy digits in your pockets for a while.

Then let's all go fight fascism.

Don't you dare minimize this. It's not a "little culture war," it's deliberate cruelty to a people that neo-nazis and Cristian-nationalists see as subhuman. It's evil and intentional.

Notably absent: ending gender transition care for all ages and erasing transgender people from existence under the law.

Target caters to a broad range of fits. I've (trans fem, relatively broad shoulders) been able to find business casual pretty reliabily.

Sadly I don't know where to look for it right now.

But remember that kid on /r/Ireland who ranked all the hot chocolates in Galway? I hope he shows up here sometime.

it's closer to a cappuccino, really. If you can make good espresso (I mean, really good espresso) and are an old hand at the foamer, sure. Yes, it's a simple thing, like olive oil and bread, with a wide range of possible outcomes that still fit the general description.

Love this. I know just the place, and hard to believe I haven't been there yet. I wonder if they make a cortado
