I have a cremo tattoo, at a certain point you have so many tattoos nothing really matters anymore rat-salute-2

Here's what I do and recommend to friends with good reviews

Firstly, you shave in the shower now. Make sure it's nice and steamy, cleanse and exfoliate your face. Exfoliating is important. I recommend non-chemical exfoliators, personally I use St Ives which is cheap and works fine

Use a creamy shaving cream as opposed to foamy and a fresh razor, replace your razor / blades at least once a week, potentially sooner depending how coarse your hair is. My favourite shaving cream is Cremo and haven't found anything else that is as gentle on my skin / still holds up to pretty harsh shaving. It's pretty cheap and a tube lasts me at least 2 months since you don't need to use a lot.

Since shaving creams like this are moisturizing, rub it in for like 20 seconds, do one pass downwards. Add more shaving cream, rub it in, do one pass upwards

Dry gently, moisturize, admire how great you look

hell yeah, that all sounds really awesome. add me to the tag list and we can chat whenever you have time :)

personally I enjoy being an electrologist, but my ideal scenario is that the industry as a profession mostly ceases to exist because we someday have DIY solutions like this. of course there will always likely be a place for specialists, but I hope it becomes a lot more approachable.

I'm sure it'll be a while but I hope this gets to the point where I can perhaps alpha test in a clinic environment

re: cheaper units, I haven't really looked into units that aren't mean to be professional workhorses personally

re: weight HRT will slow your metabolism and you'll probably eat less to fuel your body, but this also means if you binge eat as a coping mechanism at a similar level on HRT it's likely you'll gain weight

To my knowledge feminizing hormone therapy does not have a difference in risk factors depending on weight. I also found that I was happier on HRT, which meant less pointless eating and drinking, so I kinda just lost weight by accident

I posted a long ~1.5 year retrospective about my experiences with HRT here a while back, I think I deleted it due to retroactively feeling uncomfortable with that much personal information being out in the open; but i'd be happy to DM that to ya, I think I saved it on my computer.

My attitude toward HRT when I started was "fuck around and find out, if I dont feel better in a month or two I'll stop" and found it was great for me mentally before I even noticed many physical changes happening. I guess I feel similarly to you in that besides my facial hair I don't mind my masculine characteristics so I generally am read as a butch lesbian, or a suspiciously pretty man at 2.5 years into HRT

tl;dr the craziest side effect from HRT is now when i look in the mirror i'm like "hell yeah"

This is really cool; i'm an electrologist so feel free to bounce any questions off me. I'd definitely love to offer any insight since you're right that at-home electrolysis would be awesome for many.

in my humble opinion the pain point of DIY electrolysis is not access to a machine since they can be acquired relatively cheaply. The hard part is finding the right magnification and posing solutions to accurately target follicles in a self-work context, its pretty challenging to even work on an accessible area like a leg. Doing full DIY bottom surgery prep sounds pretty daunting.

Regardless this is badass, and more access to electrolysis machines is Good

PS Sphynx is such a cute and fitting name for this project, stoked to follow along

I get 3 bottles and generally only use most of 1 by the time my prescription is due to be refilled. So I'm hoarding like a greedy hog
