Sounds like it's essentially a Sturmey-Archer kick-shift 2-speed hub, but each gear outputs to a separate cog.

-cartilage in joints can regenerate

-body can synthesize its own vitamin c

Other species already do these things smh.

I think it's really good!

There is an often-repeated story about Bill Watterson (the Calvin and Hobbes creator) destroying his first 500 paintings. That's how much practice he thought he needed before his work was good. If you are not satisfied with your work, then just consider this one of your 500 pieces and keep going!

"Tassie" sounds like a great name.

Since Lemmy does not let users delete DMs, we took the liberty of deleting the "federverse girl" spam DMs for all the users on our instance. If we missed yours then let us know. Or maybe there is another account sending those out that we haven't mopped up yet?

And if you wanted to keep it for some reason, then I apologize.

I'm going to play devil's advocate because I think this is a learning opportunity and I want to set someone up to give a good answer.

A lot of people hear "anarchy" and equate it with a lack of government. Haiti has not had a functioning government for quite some time. What distinguishes Haiti's situation from anarchy?

I saw the same banner on my bank's website the other day, and also wondered what the "full faith and credit of the US government" might really be worth in the near future.

If the FDIC goes away, then the question is which bank will be less likely to suffer a bank run. That is really hard to predict, since it is all about consumer confidence and marketing perceptions. Is your local savings-and-loan safer because they are stable and boring? Or is a huge national bank safer because it's "too big to fail" and more likely to be bailed out in a crisis?

The best bet is diversification. Spread your savings among multiple banks, and consider putting it in things other than US dollars: real estate, gold, foreign currency, etc.

Yeah, usually the people who are good at running a revolution are not the same people you want running the government after the revolution.

Dear Atlanta,

I'm coming to burn your shit down in a few weeks. I suggest you GTFO. I would rather not do it, but you know how it is. No hard feelings.

Sincerely,
General Sherman

Voting the wrong way is now a criminal act in Tennessee.

Under the new law, state officials can be removed from their positions and charged with a Class E felony if they vote in favor of “sanctuary” policies for immigrants — a practice already prohibited by state law.

Sen. Todd Gardenhire, R-Chattanooga, was the lone Republican in either chamber to vote against the bill.

“We’re telling an elected official, elected by the people in their district, their county, their city, who pledged to do the best job and obey the Constitution of the United States and the state of Tennessee … you can’t cast a vote,” Gardenhire said. “That, to me, is not part of being a Republican.”

Not sure if this fits the community. It's more just fun illustration rather than a comic strip. Mods, feel free to remove if you see fit.

I love this person's work. It's very whimsical and expressive.

TL;DR: The Australian Open is streaming games for free on YouTube. The catch is that the players, court, and ball are all 3D generated. They and constructed in near-real time using cameras and video tracking software.

The loophole allows the Australian Open to show a version of live events at the tournament on its own channels, despite having sold lucrative exclusive broadcast rights to partners across the globe.

The shiny puddles look like some low-temp metal melted and oozed out of the car as it burned. I wonder what part(s) melted, and what type of metal it is?
