This will definitely not make me use TikTok. I can only imagine what kind of garbage people will post on text form. I'm obviously not the target demographic for that platform but I cannot comprehend what people enjoy about it. I had some old coworkers who used to send me tiktoks daily and they were annoying, insane, made no sense. Now put that in text format.

Yeah those are definitely from that time period where games were starting to get more modern but are still very dated by today's standards.

The only single player ones I've ever played have been 1 and 7. 1 was...old. The mechanics and everything remind me of Dragon Warrior but I kind of honestly just prefer Dragon Warrior (although I guess that one is also nostalgic because I remember watching my dad play it as a kid).

7 is much more modern but still pretty old at this point. It has a good story and interesting characters. It's been a while and I don't remember what the actual gameplay was like but I don't remember it being turn based.

I've also watched my BF play quite a bit of Final Fantasy Tactics and that's just what it sounds like, a very tactical turn based game. Not for me but some people really like that style of game so that's something to look into if it appeals to what you're looking for.

I also played a little bit of Final Fantasy 14 online and it was fun, although not the styles of MMO I personally prefer. But again it's all personal preference and if you like MMOs you should look it up because you might want to consider that instead of one of the single player games.

A lot of ultra processed foods are also ultra palatable foods so they're high in fat, sugar and salt and very hard to stop eating. They're also calorie dense so you eat past the point where you might become full with less calorie dense foods. I read this article earlier today and really liked it except that I thought the author went a little light on the judgement against this type of food manufacturing. Yes, we really do live in a world where it can be hard to both find and prepare "real" food, but the consequences of a western or specifically American diet have proven to be pretty intense.

Africa is, like, huge. So saying Russia is small because it fits within Africa doesn't make it sound small to me.

Seriously though? They bought Bethesda and look what they're doing there. Now they get to add another massive developer as if they weren't already ridiculously huge? This monopoly stuff has to end. I don't just mean gaming either. Like 5 companies control our entire food supply. There can only be one internet provider in any area. It's insane.

I have 2 cats.. They live inside and seem happy to me. My sister used to let her cats out and was calling my boyfriend near daily to come deal with some small animal they had killed. One day it was a bunny. We have 3 pet bunnies, also indoors, also seemingly happy. That frickin upset him so much so that was the end of it. I told her he couldn't clean up any more dead animals for her and she would need to keep them inside or handle it herself. She has had them indoors now for over a year and it was a tough transition but they seem fine now.

It's only really useful for aggregation of PSAs (in my opinion) and I don't need to be on one of those sites since if it's important enough someone will repost the tweet to a platform I use, or it will get reposted in a "news" article. In other news though, I also find it horribly annoying when I click on a news article to discover that it's just screenshots of a bunch of tweets.

Thank you for the link. That makes me feel better.

I think I may be confused. I thought threads did federate. Was I mistaken?

[–] lagomorphlecture@beehaw.org 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Has there been a discussion about Beehaw defederating from Threads and if so could someone direct me there please? I desperately do not want to interact with Meta products, even accidentally. I read what the mastodon guy wrote about how in his opinion they can't track you if you're on another instance but that doesn't jive with with the information meta has put out. It makes me really uncomfortable. I've heard enough horror stories about them (up to and including facilitating literal genocide...or ethnic killing if you're trying to put a "positive" spin on it) and I want my social media to be free of that company.
