No, third-party browsing engines are not a thing that's been implemented yet, and might never be by Firefox. This is about a screen that prompts EU users to pick a browser rather than defaulting to Safari and leaving it up to them to install another.

That's funny that you mention hardware, cause in Germany you pay a set fee for each device (13.19€ for a computer, 6.25€ for a phone) on purchase since it could be used to create copies of media.

I'm just getting my money's worth, officer.

This is something that has been bothering me for a while as I'm diving through space articles, documentaries etc. All seem to take our observations for granted, which are based on the data of the entire observable universe (light, waves, radiation...) we receive at our, in comparison, tiny speck. How do we know we are interpreting all this correctly with just the research we've done in our own solar system and we're not completely wrong about everything outside of it?

This never seems to be addressed so maybe I'm having a fundamental flaw in my thought process.

Fun fact: w3schools has nothing to do with w3c and there used to be a whole website dedicated to giving them shit. They've apparently gotten much better these days though.

Arch is focused on being cutting-edge and lightweight which happens to be perfect for gaming performance in most cases but that's all.

Jesus what the hell is going on in those comments over there.

Files are still stored permanently and links inside the client stay permanent as well, only links accessed externally are affected. I don't like Discord either but anyone relying on it as their personal free CDN had it coming for them.

Ohje, die Zwiebel und der Postillon verfassen beide in letzter Zeit eigentlich nur noch sachliche Berichterstattung. Die Realität hat uns eingeholt.

I've tried several forks of mobile Firefox over the months and they all (Mull, Fennec, Iceraven) suffered from the same issue of running at 60 Hz while the regular app runs at the native 120. This makes it feel very sluggish especially in comparison to every other app and has kept me on the official app.

I've wondered if other people had the same issue or if it's related to my phone (Nothing Phone 1), and if there's a potential fix.

It is dev dependent, but I don't agree with "devs can implement it just as easily" at all. One only requires using a built-in API to create notification channels (which you have to call anyway), the other requires designing and programming your own page for it.

Even the Pi has lost its headphone jack...

I nuked my personal instance because of this :(

Dealing with pictrs is just frustrating currently since there's no tools for its database format and no frontend for the API. I half-expected this outcome but I hope it gets better in the future.

With the current reddit migration happening I've remembered when Tumblr promised they were gonna add support for ActivityPub "ASAP".

(source: https://nitter.net/photomatt/status/1594587024245260289)

Does someone happen to know if there's any news on that? I'm wondering if this was just said in an attempt to stay relevant and lure in Twitter users or if they're actually putting effort into fulfilling their promise.

Additionally, what is your opinion on having closed source platforms on the Fediverse? Would you block them?
