agree here. growth dipping and lack of participation pushed me away a bit. i didn't mind it being small, but when i saw i was the only one in my communities ever contributing content, i felt discouraged.
niche communities with activity is what's really lacking here, would make all the difference. though, when attempting to fill those niches, which i have attempted, it seems there's not many people around who are interested.
i havent been active here for weeks, months maybe, but before i was arguably one of the most active on the site during and after the reddit stuff. i do miss making scripts and styles for kbin, the feeling of community, and the urge to create content. coming back i see a lot of activity died off, expectedly, but there is a tight-knit but welcoming community that has formed and it's nice too see. does feel a bit empty though?

of all these beautiful features, gotta say the CSS styling on the mags is my FAAAAVVEEE. i love doing it. i kinda go overboard and need to reel it in, but the ability to personalize your mag is so fun. though, people should have an option to toggle mag styles off, they can be distracting or the best part about the mag lol (ㅅ´ ˘ `)
its been 3 months since you left this reply, and im nearly done with my first sem in computer networking tech! im in college because of your replies, how crazy is that? anyway, i have a lot of career related questions, i'm feeling both doubt and excitement and worry and everything you can imagine about continuing on with this program. your replies were so impactful for me that i am back here 3 months later rereading them to get a better sense of direction.
feel free to say no this of course if uninterested, but would you be willing to chat on discord? you're very insightful and intelligent and i could use some of that from someone who knows what theyre talking about lol
the good thing about decentralized social media is that, if an admin one one instance is being a dick, you can move to another. imagine if that admin ran every single instance? in the way that reddit has one ruler. thankfully, it's not like that here.
