Software decoding video of any kind on a phone is a terrible idea, mostly for battery reasons. AV1 should only be available to hardware decode capable chips unless you’re on a desktop or something like that.

I know I’m a edge use-case, but I really hope this will work with my M3 Max MacBook Pro. It has DP over USB-C without needing an adapter and plays my favorite game (ever space) at high frame rates no problem, and it would be soooo epic in VR.

I am currently using a M2 mini with 8gb of ram for Plex/Jellyfin/SSH and Time Machine and the ram is plenty! But I am happy I went with 512 for the faster storage chips

If optimized charging was the culprit, it should show a pause symbol on the graph. The issue is likely related to heat or a bug, but I would recommend leaving optimized charging enabled for long term battery health.
