@cybersecurity Musk’s DOGE Minions Refuse to Reveal Their Names When Grilling Civil Servants

https://www.thedailybeast.com/musks-doge-minions-refuse-to-reveal-their-names-when-grilling-civil-servants/

Important note from the article relevant to cybersecurity:

> Several government workers who have been interviewed by Musk’s team about their work say the billionaire’s representatives declined to give their surnames and refused to answer any questions themselves, according to the New York Times.

The above combine with the recent threat by the DoJ to prosecute members of the government who don't fully comply with DOGE's actions makes the whole government at risk for social engineering.

@politics Mystery OPM server that aided buyout offers prompts House Democrat probe

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5125573-opm-server-installation-controversy/

AI Summary (Testing out):

> House Oversight Democrats are demanding answers about a "server of unknown nature and origin" installed at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) that was used for sending buyout offers to federal employees. They are also questioning how OPM was able to assemble a list of employees, which appears to be done from cobbling together existing email lists and datasets. Democrats argue that this process could have violated laws dictating how the agency must plan for using databases with personally identifiable information. The letter also mentions a suit under the E-Government Act of 2002 and raises concerns about the security of federal workers. OPM did not immediately respond to request for comment.

@GreenEngineering3475 The NFL needs to start treating Achilles injuries as 2 year injuries at best. They are trying to bring people back too soon.

@RandAlThor It's still hard to believe that Maga is outraged at a one knee but okay with 2 Nazi salutes.

@alexc Yes but the US doesn't prevent you from that and won't jail you for that. Canada enforces that law.

@alexc To cross the border with a gun?

[–] mwguy@infosec.exchange 1 points 1 day ago (5 children)

@alexc It's citizens that bring those Guns into Mexico. It's legal to do so until they've crossed into Mexico. So in theory if we see you on the US side of the border heading into Mexico with a nominally legal weapon, we're not suppose to stop you.

Trump essentially promised that this would change. Which is a pretty big deal as that's how a lot of guns come into Mexico for the Cartels.

@JOMusic It's actually a pretty big concession Trump gave up. Theoretically we're not allowed to restrict the flow of firearms out of the country because of the 2nd Amendment. So it opens up a whole can of worms as to how legally we'll restrict that flow of weapons (or even if we can).

@usa Mexican president reveals U.S. concession Trump failed to mention as tariffs paused

https://www.rawstory.com/trump-mexico-guns/

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo issued a "read-out" of her call with U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday — but her list of what the two leaders agreed to is different from his in one major respect: guns.

Washington Post staff writer Meryl Kornfield pointed out on X that in Sheinbaum's list of things the U.S. had committed to do is stop the flow of guns into Mexico.

@d00ery @MicroWave Truthfully, I think most of America is unaware of just how expensive these changes are.

[–] mwguy@infosec.exchange 2 points 3 days ago

@pete_link There's no way that couldn't be misused.

[–] mwguy@infosec.exchange 2 points 4 days ago

@dhork @cowfodder They used to have that. There was a 3 yard "imaginary halo" and you had to start your slide with at least three yards of separation for a penalty.

It might make sense to bring that back or at least make it a 5yrd vs. 15yrd if the QB slides late.

Same with the sideline. They should draw a second line 3 yards out of bounds and if you're hit in that line late it's a 5yrd penalty, outside of it 15yrds (and maybe an ejection).

@superduperpirate @GreenEngineering3475 Assuming it's true, I don't think a kicker can get away with this.

@SatansMaggotyCumFart Harris was also widely unpopular even among Democrats. When she ran for President in 2020 she received less than 1,000 votes nationally. She was on the ballot in California our home state and we couldn't get her over 1,000 votes.

She's just not a good electoral candidate. Had Biden dropped out late 2023 and the Dems held a primary with debates and such; she never would have been chosen as the candidate.

Harris could have had a any stance(s) she wanted, she was doomed to fail from the beginning.
