VERY different genre, but if you're digging short stories, i really dig earnest hemmingway's stuff.

Windup Girl was a recent discovery for me, and it was excellent!
I wish i didn't agree with this so thoroughly.
Is that an actual thing? I diy'd some of that by shoving a bunch of steel-wool into the foam while it was wet. Seems to have worked.
We became much better at doing that during covid. We all have enough stress already, we don't need to take yours too!

Our heater is set to 60F in the winter.
If i want it warmer than that (usually) it's up to me to keep the wood stove fired and fed!
