Hopefully I will have the wherewithal to actually do food prep since I got groceries. Gonna fuck with this tofu pastrami recipe I found, will report back if it's dank
So Ive been thinking about de-professionalization a lot, it seems like professions that used to be considered "skilled labor" are getting piecemealed out to people with lesser education and thus are being paid significantly lower wages to do that same "skilled work". Like I can do the same job, and have done essentially the same job, as other people who require an MSW or higher credentials but for poverty wages. I've also noticed that more and more Physicians Assistants are prescribing psychiatric medication instead of actual psychiatrists or psychiatric nurse practitioners. MSWs are engaging in therapy rather than Psychologists or licensed therapists.
I know that this has been a problem since the birth of the assembly line, basically, and the concept of "professionalization" is bullshit since access to higher education is becoming more and more limited...But it's interesting to see it bleed into other professions, likely all in the name of profit and cost cutting. More extremely specialized work being foisted upon people who have no access to the education they need to do good work, on top of their existing work, for shit pay, that can greatly impact the lives of their clients and patients.
All the while thousands of jobs in these sectors are being cut, and now we get to compete with other people for whatever jobs are left, or we become homeless, as homelessness is becoming criminalized more and more, where homeless people are thrown into an endless cycle of incarceration...If we aren't already in it this recession seems to be very intentionally manufactured, no way that it isn't.
Maybe all my clients were right about the government wanting to throw everyone into FEMA camps. Its happening right now but under another name.. Sigh
Said it before and I will say it again: The younger generations will have to pry my black painted-on skinny jeans from my cold, dead hands. They'll be popular again in like 15 years and I'll be old and ahead of the curve.
Now thrift stores will be flooded with them, it is our time
Lol I'm just imagining you standing in the middle with arms crossed, shaking your head disapprovingly then just picking up a crowd killer and tossing them like a football across the room. Gods work
Such a good idea though I would want hydraulics installed in them lol.
Hmmmm I don't think there should be any reason for that to happen if everything is adjusted correctly. When you did your indexing with the barrel adjuster, did you try to dial in each and every cog, and did you have the front and rear on the correct chainring/cog to start? The limit screws shouldn't impact the indexing I don't think.
What gear do you use to deliver? Front rack, back rack, backpack only? I very very briefly did courier work for a local outfit here, if I remember correctly they have me a huge backpack but transporting drinks always made me so nervous.
I feel like ive also noticed the horseshoe effect at shows even if its not a hardcore show, like people make the room and stand wayyyyy far from the stage like they are anticipating it. Thats really gotta suck for the bands
I just woke up and this made my morning, I'll be forcing my partner to listen to Lincoln for breakfast
